When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

Elections have consequences.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the FBI will be closing down its headquarters and moving 1,500 agents out of the Washington, DC area.

Patel said on Fox Business, “The FBI is 38,000 when we’re fully manned, which we’re not. In the National Capital Region, in the 50-mile radius around Washington, DC, there were 11,000 FBI employees. That’s like a third of the workforce. A third of the crime doesn’t happen here. So, we’re taking 1,500 of those folks and moving them out.”

“Every state’s getting a plus up,” Patel later added. He said that the process to move the agents will take around next nine months or so and then added, “I didn’t know that I was going to do this, but I’m going to announce it on your show anyway, this FBI is leaving the Hoover Building because this building is unsafe for our workforce.”

  1. Draining the swamp.

But I have a bone to pick with Kash Patel … I’d say at LEAST 1/3 of all crime in America emanates from Wash. DC … most of the crime being perpetrated by Congress.

  2. Looks like revenge postings for those that they can’t fire. A lot of obscure field offices are going to get some very unhappy agents.

Good. Let them resign if they don’t like it.

  3. New field offices across the 51st state.
    Greenland.
    Panama Canal Zone.
I can see it. Adak Island needs agents.
    Lots of places for them.

    1. Australia???!!! An office of the renamed International Bureau of Investigation in each state and territory, although our section of Antarctica can probably wait a bit – or get agents who like cold or who deserve exile… I also certainly won’t mind us being #53 or #54…

  4. This is EXACTLY what needed to happen. The only question is whether he is going far enough. One of the big problems with the FBI is that it is staffed by residents of DC, which is 96% Democrat. A lot of these 1500 agents will refuse to move. And a lot of the new hiring from this day forward will be in the various locations, and hence there will be Republican hires.

In DC, there is a critical mass of Dem agents who have no trouble rail-roading Republican administrations.

But he’s only moving 15% of the DC office. That should be a higher number.

  5. This is a double win. Pisses off all the Deep State Satanists that work there, plus gets rid of the most hideous brutalist structure in all of DC (plus it took 10 YEARS TO BUILD! – WTF?!?!) This is a major win for the country!

  6. Pah,
    Kash Patel is not serious.
Real reform would see 30 % of current agents above basic grade being tried for treason.
    Another 1/3 fired for incompetence.
And the rest written up for cowardice and oathbreaking.
    The FBI is beyond recovery.
Another institution captured, killed and its skin used as cover for corruption.
This bureaucracy is too big, this is obvious by the failure of the “Loyal Minions” to correct their corrupt management.
Hannity and his “True Blood rank and File Patriots”..
    Has he found one yet?

  7. It may not be how many are being relocated, but who? Would any hard core democrat supporting agent be comfortable at the Bugtussel Alabama field office….imagine his wife and kids….there’s a CBS afternoon movie in there somewhere.
