Margin Of Management

Dan Knight: Recounts, Power, and the Liberal March to Majority

This morning, in a quiet hall on the windswept coast of Newfoundland, democracy is going to do what it is supposed to do. Its counting. In a federal election defined by razor-thin margins and electoral fatigue, Canada’s tightest race — Terra Nova – The Peninsulas — is undergoing a judicial recount. Not because of protests or partisanship, but because the law demands it. When the margin is less than 0.1%, the ballots get counted again. That’s the rule. That’s the process. And it’s underway now.

What makes this recount so important isn’t the process — it’s the power behind the result.[…]

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Handrigan built his legal career in Grand Bank, eventually serving as a litigation lawyer before his appointment to the bench. He’s presided over high-profile cases involving criminal law, abuse compensation, and civil injunctions. In 2019, he instructed a jury in the Al Potter murder trial with clinical precision. In 2024, he ordered financial compensation for dozens of abuse victims who had been wrongly denied. On paper, that’s the mark of a judge committed to procedural fairness.

But look just a little deeper and the pattern becomes clearer. These aren’t rebellious rulings or populist pushbacks. They’re system-correcting decisions — the kind the establishment loves because they preserve the illusion of balance. That’s Handrigan’s specialty: smoothing over friction in a system designed by and for institutional power.

When, in 2024, he scheduled a hearing to block the sale of a local church in Portugal Cove South, he didn’t challenge the power structure behind the decision — he merely moderated it. As one legal analyst put it, “Handrigan doesn’t disrupt. He manages.”

And that’s the issue here.

Flashback time.

  1. This is a disgusting and shameless manipulation + in your face/screw everything moral/ethical. What they did to screw PP in Carleton, the sudden late-night reversal for Sean Fraser, the 1vote more for a recount favoring surprise-surprise a Librano – all these are typical Librano$ shenanigans. And msmedia is playing along.

  2. Remember the stolen vote talk in the US?
Carnage says we’re polluted by US misinformation and this thread will qualify for penalties if Majority Marx gets his on-line harms bill passed.

    1. That’ll be when everybody starts trading thumb drives like they do in Cuba.

  3. I’m sure the Liberals have been very busy creating fresh ballots from secret boxes of mail in ballots held in reserve and if that doesn’t work, they will examine each conservative ballots looking for a flaw and if course, allowing every rejected ballot saying it is Liberal.
If Carney gets his majority, Canada say Hasta la Vista Alberta.

  4. Everyone knows the Libranos (The Bernie Madoff of political parties, tm ) will have their majority.

  5. Another “stolen seat” was Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River riding. They had 24,317 eligible voters, while the average for Saskatchewan was 58,973 eligible voters per riding. That means a vote in Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River is worth 2.4 votes anywhere else in Saskatchewan. And a Liberal won this amazingly gerrymandered seat. Go figure.

    1. Buckley Belanger, the Liberal winner in that Churchill riding, had an ad on the radio where he said he would defend the indigenous lands from plunder by Donald Trump and the Canadian Conservatives. Even in remote northern Saskatchewan Orange Man Bad worked its magic.

  6. The hidden ballots are stashed in the Isle of Man and Bermuda. Ezra just didn’t think to ask about them when he was there.

  7. Milton East Halton Hills South went from 32,186 for Parm Gill(c) and 31,888 for the Liberal on the initial count of 66,459 votes to 32,130 for the Liberal (increase of 242 votes) and 32,101 for Parm Gill(c) (decrease of 85) on the 66,995 votes with 412 rejected ballots. (NDP lost 30, Greens lost 1, PPC lost 2)

So with with 124 additional votes, there was a swing of over 327 votes, when the Returning Officer “validated” the vote? Can we trust the unnamed returning officer?

  8. The WEF Liberals will get their majority Government no matter how many recounts it takes and no matter how many weeks and Months it takes to achieve.

Its funny, in a corrupt third world shithole kinda way… I would be willing to bet that the WEF Liberals win every “recount”.

    Just a coincidence Im sure.

Come on Alberta… give us a chance and separate from this WEF authoritarian narco State.

  9. I remember not so long ago when everyone was getting all fired up about how PP was going to win the next election and become the next PM…
I was trying to tell everyone not to get too excited, because a lot can happen between then and now.
I eluded to the possibility of fraud, and mostly everyone was giving us reasons on how difficult it is to cheat since Elections Canada uses paper ballots.
As we are witnessing first hand in real time, yes, it may be difficult, but it’s not impossible.
Even if you believe that no fraud took place (and I find that highly improbable just by looking at the raw numbers and the sheer improbability of it all), you have to acknowledge that the bean counters are showing us all how fraud can occur. How much you want to bet, based on previous re-evaluations and recounts going 100% in liberal’s favor, that all the current recounts will end up the same way?
Remember — it isn’t about how many votes are cast, it’s about who is counting the votes.
    –and–
“We don’t win elections… we TAKE them!”
There seems to be a lot of elections being taken all over the world… Britain, Brazil, the US in 2020, Germany, France… I may have left out a few.

We don’t have a government running this artificial country. We have a mafia running this circus, and a ringleader with the most appropriate name running the show.

(Meanwhile… support for Alberta independence just went up another notch!)

    1. I just saw the “flashback”
      See what I mean?
So who are you going to rely on more for credible opinions… Spencer Fernando, or my gut?

  10. I am praying for a Librano majority, this country needs to die, I will cheer the flames. Go Libranos Go.

  11. One question: when was the last time Libranos lost a recount and how many had they won since then?

  12. This latest piece from Northern Perspective:

So the ballot was returned because Elections Canada had screwed up the address on this ballot. Now I’m not imagining that Elections Canada had the wrong address on only one mail in ballot, but if this is true then it would appear that there could be more mail-in ballots that are ‘lost’ within the Postal System. The problem now is, how do you prove that this was a one of a kind error, and if they can’t prove that then the whole mail-in ballot program is corrupt and wouldn’t that require a suspension of government until we have another election sans mail-in ballots? Just asking for a friend.

  13. It really is silly to think that a politically corrupt “Post Nation State ” like Canada doesnt cheat during elections.

IT just so happens that the most corrupt political entity known as the WEF/LIberal Party always wins no matter how corrupt they are proven to be.

The WEF/Liberals spread their culture of corruption through every institution and every Government program in its control, including Elections Canada.

This country is a corrupt joke. To think that the only thing that isnt corrupt about its governance is its elections is preposterous.

  14. I give up..

Really the only stop gap is Trumps America outpacing Canada so badly that our political class is forced to moderate their insanity.. Thank God that guy won..
