Sun- NYC lost $9 billion of income to Miami, Palm Beach in five years
The two Florida counties gained households earning well above six figures, according to the report released Wednesday by the Citizens Budget Commission, a nonpartisan fiscal watchdog. Almost 20,000 people with a per capita income of about $190,000 left New York City for Palm Beach during that time, while more than 26,000 individuals with a per capita income of about $266,000 went to Miami-Dade, according to the group.
Hilarious. What a conundrum for American hating Canadians wanting to similarly protect themselves from their wealth confiscating socialist federal government.
No problem … they were replaced by people who don’t look like us. And those people were making BANK on the USAID/NGO taxpayer dime, err stacks of Benjamins. Oops.
“a non-partisan fiscal watchdog” – I find that hard to believe.
As well, no city, state or country, has claim on it’s citizen’s incomes in perpetuity, not even California or New York, even though they want to claim it. I’m sure California and New York plan to improve on Canada’s exit tax, if they haven’t already.
I think California already has that tax in place.
Drop in the bucket. About 160 Wall Street Firms moved their operations out of NYC since 2020. Additionally, the governor of NY just announced today a payroll tax increase to pay for the MTA’s Capital plan, which comes in at about $68 Billion.
Watch the exodus this creates. It won’t be pretty.
Guess I didn’t read it carefully the first go round. I thought the report was produced by our Glorious CBC (doesn’t the President live in NYC?), and wondered why this was a project of theirs!
l was in NYC 2 X? maybe 3.
the people were terrific. the restaurateur treated us like royalty. really.
Bebe Neuwirth on broadway alas sold out.
public toilet was different. just the bowl no lid out in the open no door ’cause no stall to attach it to.
it did flush.
my ocd could have had a heyday but l steeled myself for it.
Florida should send out a one page mailer to the New York arrivals that explains to them why they moved since it’s not too hard to understand. Remind them why they left NYC so they don’t allow the same thing to happen in Florida.
The Cultural Capitol of Western Society.
Thankfully NYC is home to over 500,000 illegal aliens. If diversity is their strength it should be showing; and it should be less than fatal to ride the subways.

Miami could become the New York City of the 21st century. It’s already de facto South America’s capital in terms of culture and finance.
Florida is the new California.
