Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Last Night the Leaders with Blanchette calling oil dirty ruled the debate! Until our so called leaders learn the facts that oil productions has dangers like H2S ‘but those dangers are no more than Quebec’s High Voltage Electricity !
None of them realize that Anthropogenic Climate Change is a myth!
Our bought and paid for Media will sell Poilievre short but he did a good job ! Hope he can win for Canada’s sake !
Nice Keith!
5 !
The frog isn’t an idiot, but he is a liar. “The worst pollution in the world”. Fckoff.
Jagmeet is an idiot and he’s insane. “poison our beautiful land, water…let them dump into our oceans”
PP was ok. “the liberal anti-development law, C-69 a law Mr. Carney wants to keep in place”
Carbon is a liar-hypocrite. He’s all over the place like the stains in a cheap motel. But there’s this: “which is recognizing that we are in a crisis. We need to act with maximum force” We all know what that means.
Right on!
Lol Thanks.
Liberal candidate, “I’m not going to say unequivocally that we won’t see a carbon tax again.”
https://www.recorder.ca/news/leeds-grenville-candidates-court-rural-voters-in-spencerville-debate
The carbon tax will be back on April 29th if we see a liberal majority
Even with a minority government. It will also be twice as much as the previous rate.
JD
If there’s a Liberal minority government, Mark Carnage will immediately restore the carbon tax, plus the previously scheduled April 1 increase.
The Liberals will then bring in a “big polluter” tax on carbon emissions. The Bloc and NDP will both support it.
He will hide it by charging businesses, will raise prices.
L
I maintain Carnage will do both
“The Liberals will then bring in a “big polluter” tax on carbon emissions. ”
Always love seeing that particular manipulation of the truth.
So, Mr. Carney, who exactly will pay this tax that you levy on the ‘big polluters’?
Oh, yeah…the CONSUMER. As always.
Do you remember way back, @1980, when certain Clark and “progressive conservatives” were defeated in the parliament?
In the election campaign following, the so called ‘Liberals’ and specifically a guy by the name of Marc Lalonde said specifically that the so called ‘Liberals’ would not put more tax on gas. As soon as they got elected they, in fact, put new tax on gas.
After the so called ‘Liberals’ got elected the guy said this:
Mr. Lalonde:
It seems that members on the other side still want to prompt their leader further, Madam Speaker. As to the question raised by the right hon. member, I would remind him that during the last campaign the Prime Minister was asked repeatedly by the press and other people about the principle of the excise tax, and he indicated repeatedly that we would not reintroduce the odious 18-cent excise tax which the Conservatives had put in their budget. That was a clear statement of commitment. Moreover, questions were specifically put to him at the time about the principle of an excise tax. He indicated that we had introduced a 7-cent excise tax, so the principle of an excise tax is not one which this government had refused.
By all appearances, the current so called ‘Liberal’ running for prime minister will do the same bait and switch as soon as they are elected.
Watch and learn.
There will be more taxes, more carbon taxes more sucking of your money to give free stuff to the media cartel, new immigrants, to the assorted shitholes of the world and so on and so on.
It is unfortunate that the plebeians don’t know history and perhaps even if the knew, they would ignore it and vote for free stuff anyway.
More recently. Remember the Liberal promise to ax the GST?
I remember. I believe Joe Clark said we need a $0.05 tax on gas. Trudeau said, if elected, he would not increase taxes on gas for 18 months. I think he kept his promise and later added a tax that was higher than the one Clark proposed. This highlights an interesting point about Canadian voters. They like to procrastinate but they sure like their taxes.
PET also timed it for going from gallons to litres. Clarke’s tax was 25 cents per gallon on all gasoline. PET was 10 cents per litre for regular and 9 cents for unleaded. Multiply by 4.55 and it was 46 cents per gallon for regular and 41 cents for unleaded.
The media pilloried Clarke for 25 cents then licked PET’s nuts for 46.
In the fight against the weather, the best place to go after some low hanging fruit is by “letting the eastern bastards freeze in the dark”
It would appear that most Canadians believe in the FREE LUNCH.
Unfortunately like the old Soviet Union elections involve the Uni-party.
Kanadians will be shocked as hell when the line for the free lunch of bugs is hours long. The line for the black pill will be quite short.
Developing energy and resources is the only way Canada can produce added value profit.. Beyond maple syrup we don’t produce anything worth an actual markup that couldn’t be had elsewhere for less.. Same for food and livestock..
Canadian politics looks a gift horse in the mouth.. No amount of Punjabi truck drivers can change that..
We are simply not a serious nation, (or a nation at all other than by lines on a map) and are lead by unserious political parties of all stripes. Some are less worse than others.
How is it that Sweden with the population of 10 + million is so productive, makes some of the best fighter planes in the world, has school choice, has the best educated population, save for the recent arrivals and excel in culture, industry, schooling and a lot of common sense, save for recent arrivals?
How is it then that the politicians in this country don’t aspire for that similar kind of excellence, instead, they are running the country down into the abyss, some faster, some slower, all things being the same, going the same direction.
This country has a rather large number of engineers, these people generally know stuff to produce industrial miracle. Of course the politicians are impeding them at every bloody turn, the fat guy in Ontario notwithstanding.
Who is going to invest in industry when the political class gets to screw them out of existence?
Up until recently, the reason was that Sweden was full of Swedes… Trudeau worked hard to end that in Canada starting in the 1970s
Yup, Sweden is a marvel.
https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/sweden
“Yup, Sweden is a marvel.”
I’m still waiting for Canada’s first ‘no-go zone’. It’s inevitable.
Indeed it is. Just minutes away.
Winnipeg.
We already have an area outside of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Police, when they go in – go in – in force. Nova Scotia has the highest level of trafficked women in Canada… I wonder why?
Wait, isn’t that called Toronto?
I no go to Toronto.
Brampton.
The Feds are beyond broke. Every nickel of the GST now barely covers just the interest on the ‘Nation’s’ debt. Will PM Carney increase the GST to grab more money from the sorry citizens? A broke populace is a compliant populace.
I thought Blanchett was the star of the show by clearly showing everyone NOTHING will get done unless Quebec gets all the money. Carney was blathering on about doing things and then Blanchett would jump in with his non, non, non. And he was right. All this unicorn dust about building will have no impact (even if it happens) for years. When we negotiate tariffs (like every other country in the world), we have nothing new to bring to the table.
As a side note Blanchett proudly announced Quebec is linked to the California carbon market. BUT, in a recent Executive Order Trump has taken aim at this a part of his move to eliminate barriers to energy development.
If the CUCKservatives just keep bible pounding, the libtards will be a shoe in.
Unless you’re a closet Liberal…you better hope like hell every church going swingin’ dick and their spouse gets out and votes or you will have a Carney gov’t. …of course the myopia in you will blame the religious among us once more. And the cycle will continue.
35 churches burned to the ground over the last three years is a stark reminder that for a few of us, Liberals are not our friends.
Already voted Blue.
Thumbs up
I’m not sure gym counts as a closet Liberal. More like a Pride parade float queen Liberal. It was having “Suck Mine Next, Justin!” tattooed across his forehead that gave him away.
At the end, Blanchet took a stab at Alberta calling the oil sands the worst pollution in the world. He proves Québec will never let Albertans be nothing but a host for parasites.
Dumping raw sewage into the St Lawrence River seems to be a Quebecois habit.
https://www.antarcticajournal.com/montreal-to-dump-2-billion-gallons-of-raw-sewage-into-its-drinking-water/
Meanwhile the Bloc says “Send us more money.”
Actually he said “sen hus moore munee”
Québec: “Our sh*t does not stink! And to prove it we dump it to the river.”
That was a discussion from one multimillionaire Bolshevik, a Jacobin eco fascist representing one province feigning separatism, one Jacobin bankster eco-fascist and wanabe Fuhrer, and a compromised moral coward cowing to the media. Vote for the moral coward or risk the Jacobin eco-fascist wanabe Fuhrer. In our degraded culture of end stage democracy, no honest politician is electable and if they are and speak out, no electable party will abide them.
“and a compromised moral coward cowing to the media. Vote for the moral coward or risk the Jacobin eco-fascist wanabe Fuhrer. ”
I’ll risk it. He was great in last night’s debate but his stupid “under the thumb of America” line really drove it home for me. THIS is our ‘conservative’ candidate? THIS is the best we can do…a guy running against Donald Trump instead of the real threats to Canada?
Pass. I don’t vote for cowards.
Me either. I made that decision years ago. No more disappointments. And no more guilt.
You are in a similar conundrum as the Brits were…they wound up with Starmer, and how has that turned out? Or you could say that this is like the U.S. was with Obama and Romney, how did that turn out? (and we are in much better position to weather such things thanks to our Constitution and the power of the states, but how much damage was done?).
You probably should go with the moral coward and try to get a decent parliament behind him. Otherwise you will wind up with something your really don’t like. And you have very little power to redress it.
Sometimes the least worst is the best you’re going to get.
“You are in a similar conundrum as the Brits were…they wound up with Starmer, and how has that turned out? Or you could say that this is like the U.S. was with Obama and Romney, how did that turn out? ”
The UK almost got Nigel Farage…they will fit it next time.
And the US *did* get Donald Trump, so I would say it turned out just fine.
“You probably should go with the moral coward and try to get a decent parliament behind him. Otherwise you will wind up with something your really don’t like.”
Nope. No more waiting and hoping for me. A fish rots from the head down, so it doesn’t matter what a ‘decent parliament’ might look like since any Canadian Prime Minister with a majority has total control of them.
shrug, shrug, shrug, et un haussement d’epaules.
That’s… four haussements of the epaule-calypse…
Har. Tres humerus. 🙂
“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.” – Thomas Sowell
3 men on stage obviously suffer from psychosis. Probably not treatable.
As a western separatist I took only mild interest which was for entertainment purposes only.
I’v seen this movie before.
This is make or break right here.
Should Carney get in… oil discussion will be off the table and the great replacement policy will be fast tracked. But he’s not going to win so there’s that.
And for all the talk of Poilievre being Canada’s best chance…fine, but let’s just say I’m not totally sold on him but he’s about as good as it gets. Reminds me how with some apprehension I bought a ’73 Ford Montego in my yoot. Given my financial circumstances and other unsavoury options I said “Eff it” and bought it anyways. Got 4 years out of it… most of it unpleasant.
And unless he’s doing it for the optics his bold talk about Trump isn’t reassuring.
Just shut up. I’d rather you talk about adding a 100 feet or more of asphalt to Toronto Island Airport. Y’know, stuff that every Canadian worries about.
“And unless he’s doing it for the optics his bold talk about Trump isn’t reassuring.
Just shut up. I’d rather you talk about adding a 100 feet or more of asphalt to Toronto Island Airport. Y’know, stuff that every Canadian worries about.”
Exactly so. Our MSM has convinced the Canadian public that only ‘fighting’ Donald Trump matters because our sovereignty is at risk or some such silliness , and only the Liberals are willing to do because the CPC are in Trump’s pocket. In reality, Canada actually has *nothing to fight with*, and the MSM knows it.
(they just hope you don’t)
Pipelines were discussed. But what about pipe cleaners? What about pipe dreams? Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are free-associating… put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Sorry, got a bit carried away there. I’ll pipe down.
Did I mention I used to play the bagpipes at openings of Eddie Bauer outlets? I’ve compiled an album of my favourite tunes, “Pipe Down!” Available soon.
Debate on energy:
One side: Energy is good.
The other side: Energy is bad.
Did Quebecs dams get built with electric heavy equipment?
I was about to post the same comment. As for Quebec I’ve had sixty years of being held to ransom by a group of people that without equalization payments would have withered on the vine seventy years ago.
I stopped voting conservative after the disasterous Harper campaign of “He’s just not ready, but nice hair though.” The present incarnation of conservative candidates is not much better than what we have had to endure through most of my sixty years of being politically involved. The canidates are so busy trying to woo voters of different stripes, beliefs, and backgrounds that they have all lost the ability to stand on the principles that actually create a strong independent country, another fault of multiculturalism. When you cede nationalistic pride to leaders that promoted multiculturalism you abdicated the right to be a nation. Canadians have done that in spades. We used to be a vassal state first of the United Kingdom then of the United States, in the last ten years we have started to transition to be a vassal of the Peoples Republic of China, and those that aspire to lead us blame Trump. We are finished as a nation because the road back to nationhood will be too arduous and costly for the incumbent population to tread!
“I was about to post the same comment. As for Quebec I’ve had sixty years of being held to ransom by a group of people that without equalization payments would have withered on the vine seventy years ago. ”
Too bad that no asked them last night why their hydro-electric income is *exempt* from being counted when it comes to calculating their equalization payments as a ‘have-not- province.
Do Canadians realize that Trump’s “mean” tariffs are paid by Americans, not Canadians? Do they realize that the Liberal Party tariffs are paid by Canadians, like an extra tax, and, once to so-called retaliatory tariffs get into full swing, the government is projected to raise $1 TRILLION from Canadians over the next 4 years? OF COURSE THEY DON’T!
Thus both the CPC and the LPC jumping on the Orange Man Bad bandwagon.
Neither party could resist such a windfall falling into their lap.
“OF COURSE THEY DON’T!”
Our politicians are very careful to hide that fact from them.
Apropos of nothing, I went to my advance poll today in the riding of Edmonton West. Arrived at 11:55 A.M., got out 57 minutes later at 12:52 P.M. Line was well out the door — I estimated somewhere around a constant 150 or so people, and the parking lot was jammed. I asked one of the poll workers what it had been like, and she said it had been busy since the poll opened (7:30 A.M., I believe).
Interesting.
My woman and her sister just returned.
Our riding was quiet but the place had long lines of dummies.
