But far more recent and serious allegations were made against Keeper, including a pattern of abusive behaviour towards his wife, as reported by Keean Bexte and Juno News.

  1. I’m pretty sure this guy had a surgery where they cut your femur in half and fortify it to make you taller. If Keeper is a Canadian real estate agent, then this guy went from 5’6″ to 5’10” via surgery.

    The article ( https://tinyurl.com/hfm6r6b4 ) says he met his future wife online, and she said she wouldn’t have even gone out with him if he was 5’6″ when they met. She’s 5’8″. They both sound so down to earth and wonderful.

    The Liberals wanted a “high-profile candidate,” so they gave him resources, a safe riding, and dangled future perks.

I don’t give a rat’s ass about who runs for the Liberals or who this guy is, but just be clear that charges being stayed means the crown has decided not to go to trial, but they have a year to change their mind. After a year there is no case. So this guy might have been guilty of something or he might not, but from a legal perspective he hasn’t done anything that makes him a criminal. So assume some crazy ex accusing him of something for revenge rather than that he’s a criminal.

      1. Agreed 100% Rusty that he should be given the benefit of the doubt and ‘a man is innocent until proven guilty’ and all that, and yes, there are all sorts of false allegations out there made by all sorts of nutbars, vengeful exes, etc.*

        Thought Experiment: would the Liberal Party of Canada extend such a legal and social nicety to a Conservative candidate rival? What’s sauce for the goose……

        *if there were extenuating circumstances – e.g., a wife with drug, alcohol and/or mental health problems, or something like that, he could have “come clean” about the 2005 charges; the fact that he did not indicates that he likely is – as they said about Steely Dan’s 2001 Grammy – “being rewarded for a body of work.”

  11. Keene Bexte did all the work on this file, not the Calgary Herald, not The Rebel, and only reported on Juno News with the co-owner a few days after Bexte posted the exclusive to X/Twitter of these stories…

    I should be happy enough though, that the Calgary Herald did eventually catch up in the news cycle.
    The links to this were posted a few times on SDA in reader tips and while the other #Libranos were headline news 7 days past, as it was actually happening.

    Bexte started posting on X/Twitter about Mr. Keeper not permitting questions from Bexte and locking his election HQ front door preventing more questions, then reporting to the police that Bexte had struck him, while Bexte posted the entire altercation to X/Twitter showing that Keeper had filed false allegations against him. Another day of the police investigating false accusations, while citizens wait an hour for the police to arrive after an initial complaint, as my daughter did one sunny afternoon in central Calgary.

      l can beat that. saturday august 13 2022 9 a.m. FOURTEEN hours after the 911, l tell the cop about the tenant that knocked me on the floor, put a rock thru my front storm door (get a quote) smashed 3 interior slab doors ($100 apiece) and my ‘share’ of the smashed windows: another $600.
      cop dismisses it as (exact quote) “occupancy rights”.
      tenancy laws in ontariowe apparently exempt tenants from the . . . . . . criminal code?

    1. All the car stuff is made here in Ontario. Maybe a little bit in Quebec. That’s why #BlubberDouggie is yammering. If the USA wanted to screw us, they could -easily- shift all Ford/GM/Chrysler production Stateside. Easily.

      1. It’s worse than that. Mexico just folded, rather publicly, stating that there will be no retaliatory tariffs, and that they are exploring alternative strategies.. (In English: they are looking to negotiate a ‘deal’). Trump will likely have to throw them some sort of bone, to keep them on the path.
        “Here.. make us some car parts, Mexico.. we are moving some some ‘furniture’ so to speak, doing a little rearranging, soo..no tariffs.. thank you for acting like rational adults, and thank you for your cooperation..”

          1. he just proposed a blue ‘apprenticeship’ system to get immigrnt medically trained people into the workplace.
            l would suggest and add a 1 year refresher course, to bring them up to Cdn standards. then write the exam to actually get that license properly

    Why did the Liberals pull their upstanding candidate?
    Why do they bother?
    For if Liberals had any decency,morals or ethics..the Liberal Party of Canada would not have any candidates.

  15. Liberals running in Calgary have always been pretty low grade genetic material. Edmonton is a safer bet.
