  1. Well…off the top of my head, I think it’s an improvement. Can’t pass any legislation, and judging by how that’s been going last while, that’s mostly a good thing. The circus of QP, which while giving Canadians some amusing moments but only serves to distract from important matters, isn’t missed here. Now…if we could also stop paying our members of parliament and their staff, that would be icing on this cake.

  2. Nice.
$211K for a back bench clapping seal (plus staff and expenses).
$311K for a front bench clapping seal with a department budget (plus more staff and more expenses).
Oh, and off shore and foundation perks for the big girl.
And to be clear, they do not “work.”

  3. Some X/Twitter rumblings that an election will be called in the day or two after the #Libranos coronation of Marx the Carney.

    To the staffers… “be ready”

    1. I’m doubtful.
The liberals need to find replacements for the rats who aren’t running again.
Unless they’ve lined them up, they will need time.
I’m sure Jag and Blochead will assist in delaying an election.

    2. ie freshen up your resumes, be ready to clear your desks and take home any office plants

  4. Meanwhile, Governor General Sealskin is likely scarfing down the whale blubber that she had flown in.

I called her office on its toll-free number, urging her to recall Parliament for the good of the country. That was several weeks ago. Nothing happened. Not a peep from Rideau Hall.

Now, can anyone tell me why she‘s still drawing her lavish paycheque?

  5. Government Officials should be paid like flight attendants, only get paid while at work!

Conversely, flight attendants should be paid like government officials, especially when they save your ass in the event of a plane crash!!

  6. Did we all know Carney’s uncle Kemper married Justin’s mom? I need a fact check.Freid Kemper is Carney’s mom’s brother?

  7. It almost looks as if there is a trucker protest outside … and all your MP’s are “afraid” to attend Parliament… ? Speaking of bullshit narratives.

  8. Too bad we couldn’t put them on a piece rate exclusively based on repealing legislation already on the books and / or for every thousand reduced government employees on the payroll.

  9. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will work quickly in Canada’s best interests. /sarc off

    1. The Supremes should be replaced immediately with a random draw from the phone books.

  10. The prorogation decision will come on the same day as the election call, no doubt. Librano courts in Bananada.

  11. Love these juxtapositions.

The newly discovered patriotic politicians that have pledged to fight the tariffs gave the mistaken premise that whatever it was they were going to do was going to stop Trump.
    Their mistake.
See Trump doesn’t feel the current government is going to bargain in good faith because they haven’t been for the last 9 years, and putting a new leader in place isn’t going to change his opinion.
So the excrement will be hitting the fan and our AWOL government will have to face the reality that parliament needs to resume immediately or it’s going to get worse for them.
Of course Leisure Suit Larry (aka the turd) doesn’t care because the second he leaves office he’s likely headed out of the country leaving the mess for his successor.

  12. In one of Poilievre’s interviews around the time of prorogation – maybe with Jordan? – he made a very blunt comment that the business of the nation should not be brought to a halt just so the Liberal Party can, quote, “get its shit together.” This seems so obvious it shouldn’t even need to be said. A country that cared about the proper functioning of its institutions ought to have horse-whipped the Liberals for it.

And yet, it seems central & eastern Canadians by & large do not care about such things. Give them a shiny new Liberal leader to like, and a Trump to subject to a Two Minutes Hate, and they’ll fall over themselves running back to Big Daddy Liberal. They’ll even defend it, saying, well, of course the Liberals should be given the opportunity to put their new leader in place, it just wouldn’t be proper to have Parliament meet or have that pesky election until the Liberals can properly present themselves.

You just can’t fix that level of stupid. It’s battered spouse syndrome. The Liberals know Canadians won’t ever truly leave them and behave accordingly. The Conservatives can yell it from the rooftops and Canadians just accuse them of being loud and obnoxious and can’t they just behave themselves and be more like the Liberals?

    1. Like an eighty year old Canadian Greek said to me the other day. ” They want everyone to be the same”.
      That’s about it too.

      1. Yep. Those very same people, the ones who tut-tut the Conservatives for being rude or loud or whatever, will bemoan that the PC party no longer exists, and wasn’t it awful that those yucky redneck Reformers took it over, and they would so vote for a revived PC party led by someone respectable like Jean Charest.

Aka they want Liberal Party Pro and Liberal Party Lite, so they don’t have to do any real thinking.

  13. this was the plan of the first Turdo that seized power in the 60’s…. it has been executed flawlessly …. cana_duh does not exist anymore….. wish I would have emigrated to the U S when I was young

  14. My neighbors’ cousins’ daughters’ 4yo son asked me why the PM is not at work. I replied that’s a question for Chrystina Freeland

    1. From an American who loves visiting Canada and has had the most positive interactions with Canadians I must share that nothing has changed my perception in these regards. I deplore the current animosity between our citizens but understand it. As a retiree with travel destinations to consider I hope and pray that Canada will soon be back on my list. As a long time political observer, I have never been a fan of either Trudeau, nor a fan of the Clintons or Obama.

  15. A lot of asylum seekers, refugees and illegals could be set up in there.
Parliament is a racist-colonialist idea and the only way to reform it is to let Afghans take a shit using the Speaker’s chair.

  16. The Uni-party is huddled behind closed doors. They are composing a press release that they’ll use this summer when Trump sails the US fleet around Baffin Island, anchors in Hudson Bay, and plants the Stars and Stripes on the Ungava Peninsula.

  17. Heh,maybe they would all turn up for work,if we found another unrepentant NAZI for them to applaud?
It is impossible to parody our Dear Leaders.
    National Emergency?
    Orange Man come a knocking?
Wait! Must pick new figure head for the Red Wing of Uni-Party.
We are getting Tariffs because President Trump, rightly assumed our useless leaders would squawk a lot and do absolutely nothing.

Now tariffs on goods going into the USA cost USA consumers, encouraging them to find a cheaper source..
These retaliatory tariffs our Little Emperors are imposing on goods from the USA?
Canadians pay those, encouraging us to find a cheaper source?
But we can’t even trade East West in this over regulated shithole.
So the Canadian solution to American protectionism is self abuse?
Rewarding the very government that got us into this situation.

    We need some new rules.
    Emergency!
When government declares “Emergency” they must tender their resignations in same document.
So far every emergency has been through government incompetence.
These fools and bandits must be banished from every position higher than dog catcher.
And every “Solution” has made this country weaker and poorer.

    1. Something, Something about cutting one’s nose off, to spite their face, except its someone else that cuts your nose off and tells you how great it looks on you and to go out and show it off to the Americans!

Jesus wept, the inhabitants of this ‘country’ are crazy!
