“Telling a story” is an old Southern colloquialism for lying.
It’s called money laundering, and Hollywood is rife with it.
A “production company” gets “paid” with what is essentially their own money. Now that money is “clean”.
At least Hollywood beat piracy…by making content that nobody would even pirate.
