I remember living in Edmonton as a kid, they’d just dump the snow off the banks, into the river, we would hang out on the edge and watch.. Aparently, they do not do this any more, citing polution concerns.
Looking at the snow removal machine in the picture, just imagine how much electricity, how big the battery and how long it would take to charge, to do as much work as this unit is doing!
They used to dump in the river there as well. Now they dump shit. Snow is too dirty.

I would imagine the road salt mixed up in the snow might cause problems with the local riverine systems.
The irony is that as soon as it melts, it all ends up in the rivers anyway.

Yeah … it’s a little hazy today in the Bay … but clear blue skies over my house and the outdoor thermometer reads 64deg.F in the shade … easily mid 70’s in the warm sun. Yeah, Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom have declared permanent global warming over CA … hence we need to keep growing an ever-larger bureaucracy to punish our sins with higher fees, and taxes. Ohhhhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaaaaa … Spring has hit the State in Feb.!!! We’re all gonna die.
It’s 10c (50f) here in Alberta today and should be, into march. We call it false spring, as we could get another round of real winter. I was watching the weather in Texas, as I had a shipment coming from there, it was -7c in Houston the other day, with Galveston being -2 on the coast!

Where the hell did these people live? It has been like that all my life. Good God, snow so deep even in March you would have the layers showing snow 8 to 10 feet deep. Who the hell are these people? I know Canadians have become stupid but, this is beyond stupid.
Montreal used to dump the snow in the St Lawrence but they had to stop since it diluted the direct sewer discharge into the river

Reliable sources have predicted all the snow will be handled by July given increased funding.
Looks like they need a $40billion (which converts to $180 billion) dollar monorail.
