   1. There are Canadians on X ranting about this and accusing Trump/Rubio of lying about there being no U.S. banks operating in Canada. Yes, there are several — but they have commercial/business services only, and for high levels of income. They can offer no retail services, no accounts for any average person who might want to open an account. So, practically speaking, there are no American banks open to ordinary Canadians.

2. So nice to listen to adults talking sense. Severe shortage of the same in Canada at all levels of government!

With the problems the US faces on the International scene along with equally severe problems at home , the mess left by 12 years of Democrat rule , the immigration issue along with powerful drug cartels in the US , corrupt voting system , any attempt to conquer Canada would be utter chaos, and given that many people in Canada would hate Trump enough to permanently vote Democrat would spell disaster for the US and permanent Democrat rule.

   The reason Trump broached the subject of Greenland , and Canada as the 51st state is because the US is facing a humiliating military defeat in Ukraine. He cannot and will never admit that to the US population , so a distraction is needed to buy Trump time until Russia essentially solves the problem , then Trump can walk away leaving the UK and EU holding the bag without admitting defeat.

And Rubio is right when he says during the Cold War the US allowed the insane protectionist economic policies of Canada because they wanted to have the country prosper and Canada at that time was a true ally that shared the same values. Can’t say that today.

6. How DARE the USA treat Canada as an equal trading partner! How DARE we not acknowledge them as some 3rd or 2nd world “emerging power”. Canada needs to be treated like a crippled child … Right?

7. About that meeting: Trudeau went to Mar-a-Lago off-schedule, on a whim. Aka unprepared + on adversarial territory. Trudeau is an imbecile on a good day, of course he was dismal when he met unprepared on Trump’s lair. Prime Moron actually gave the idea to Trump when he replied that we can’t survive as a country if tariffs imposed. Plus, to make things worse, the idiot commented unwarranted that stupid thing re Kamala/feminism. So this whole situation is Trudeau’s fault.

   Ok, Trump is kinda’ pushing this bad joke a bit too far. But it’s because he senses blood in the water (the other side is moronic) + Trudeau&co continue to be idiots with retaliatory rethoric & Canadian media continues to bad-mouth him. And we should know by now NOT to do that with Trump.

13. One thing that should be pointed out is that other than rhetoric, Trump has done absolutely nothing to Canada. Who would have thought even the idea of more pipelines would be widely supported? However, I do agree that another Liberal win is a a very real possibility. As for pipelines, any private company that puts 1 dollar at risk to propose a pipeline project is a darn fool.
