    1. Yep. The USA made one defensive coverage mistake all game. One.

I can’t wait to hear how we crushed them in overtime, whereas, without the many spectacular, game-savers from Binnington, the game would have been 6-2, in overtime, alone.

McD was otherwise a non-factor pretty much ALL game.

      1. You better watch the replay of the whole game there Ron bluster mclane sounds like you missed most of the match

        1. I didn’t root for the USA.

CDA had no little to no room due to the thorough and responsible defensive structure of the USA … until they missed coverage on the wrong guy at the wrong time, and Marner got a pass thru to an open McD (3 shots on goal total, same for Cerelli. Bennett 6, MacKinnon 5). It was a rare, clear and open, slot shot opportunity, w Helly deep in his net. Tough to stop unless hit in the crest.

How many ten-bell saves did Binnington make (in overtime alone) that kept CDA in the game; to allow for McD’s eventual goal? How many ten-bell saves did Helly have to make? How many breakaways did Helly face?

Binnington was big game spectacular and the difference.

      2. They left the best player in the world standing in front of the net waiting for a pass. Yuge mistake.

        1. Not sure McD is the “best player in the world,” but to leave him alone in front was indeed a catastrophic lost coverage for the Americans.

      3. Yeah … leaving McD wide open in front of goal is a tragic mistake. Congrats to our future 51st State for the win. But 2-2 into the 4th Period ain’t too shabby … for either side.

  1. See I told ya Trudeau should have taken a wager with Trump to wear the Candian jersey if Canada won?

    1. The bet was that if Canada won, the US would become the 11th province. Welcome to Canada…

  2. The best part of this is EVERY guy on team U.S. of Karen knows where Binnington is in the NHL standings.

  3. Yes, I am devastated with the loss, but this whole tournament is not terribly important in the grand scheme of things. It was a good game, but still, the entire tournament was nothing more than a distraction.
Binnington stood on his head to keep the Canucks in it in OT. One would have wondered what could have happened if the Canuck’s coach gave into the pressure and replaced him in goal with… Sam Montembeault???

Congrats to the winners. Now the question is what exactly did Canada “win” anyway? The turd is still the PM, Caunucks are still facing a fentanyl crises at the border, and the country is facing economically crippling tariffs.
But all that doesn’t seem to matter to the Canuckistanians. Their team won a hockey game! All is right with the world.
Well, congrats to the winners. Enjoy the victory. Something tells me it’ll be the last thing this country will celebrate for quite a long time.
Next stop… the Stanley Cup. btw… when was the last time a Canadian team won the cup? 32 years ago. 1993 Montreal Canadians. I was there!

      1. There is little we at SDA have to cheer about when we should have so very much. The “Canadian” sanctimony is at the CBC.

  4. Canadian Parliament approved a one time dose of testosterone for its hockey team before facing off against the U.S. team. Why doesn’t it approve a dose for your P.M.?

  5. Congratulations to Team Canada in an excellent win. In other news, Toronto will now be nestled upon Lake America until further notice. That is all, carry on.

  6. Re the anthem:

    Oh Can A DUH………

that only U.S. command……..Can’t take the US out of us…………

  7. Anybody notice we have new lyrics to our national anthem?

Chantal Kreviazuk the singer at the hockey game decided to take a cut at Trump and modified the lyrics. What’s with that? She doesn’t own the lyrics, we do. It’s Canada’s song not hers.

She should never be asked to sing it again.
