    1. no. they get to slither away, which pisses me off to no end, or ng, or arani. however you spell sleaze in this country that I no longer recognize,
speaking of exile, does trudeau get to flee to elba with his millions?
if so, I hope he enjoys it while he melts in exile with his diseases

  1. Take the money and run…

Are these “Canadian” Members of Parliament going to be living in canuckistan in the future?

Or will they be going home? Or perhaps emigrate to a first world country?

Traitors they are not since they never had any loyalty to this place or the people, they are simply scum.

    1. Good question. In fact, PP needs to ask Carney if he will give up his British citizenship as it is unconsionable that any MP has any citizenship in competition with their Canadian citizenship.
If any MP has British, French, American, Iranian, Indian, Israeli, or any other citizenship, disavow and renounce, or quit.

  2. These good and loyal Liberals are probably leaving because
they know that Carney doesn’t favor them and wouldn’t lift a finger to help them get elected again.
I intend to vote for Chrystia Freeland for Liberal leader, for obvious reasons.
Carney worries me. I keep praying for a lightning strike.

    1. If you’re voting in the liberal leadership race, and you don’t want Carney to win, on your ranked ballot you might want to put Carney as your last choice.

Yes, I realize some people may be voting to block someone, or just to cause mischief.

I submitted Don Trump to register to vote, but I’ve not heard back.

  3. My guess is it was a combination of odds of re-election and a subtle hint from one of Carney’s aides that they shouldn’t expect a cabinet position if they do get re-elected.
This is the problem for whoever becomes the next leader.
The ability to write the throne speech has been taken from them due to the actions of Donald Trump. They not only have to choose a cabinet those appointed will have an extremely steep learning curve and will be totally dependent on department bureaucrats to run their portfolios for the duration they remain the government.
Those bureaucrats are watching all indicators to predict whether they will keep their job or hope that when Poilievre becomes PM their department isn’t a casualty of downsizing. So they won’t be concentrating on running their portfolios department but on finding a new meal ticket.
Now of those portfolios the ones that just became the worst job in the world are
    Finance
    Defence
    Justice
    International trade
    Foreign affairs
The later four because the level of scrutiny being placed on those files and finance because it’s got to be paid for immediately.
That would explain why these two ministers decided to get out of Dodge today.
What’s coming is bad enough for a liberal to want to quit politics and get a real job.

  4. The current political climate is starting to remind me of the mid-1970s when Canadians delighted in hating Nixon and fawning over Justin’s stepfather. As we sank into a brutal recession, we kept doubling down on the same failed policies that got us into the recession to begin with. It took nearly 10 years for Canadians to at least start to wake up.

I do recall, however, that John Turner’s polling numbers looked favorable too. But it did not last. At least Turner had been finance minister and had a seat in the House of Commons.

  5. They’ll be replaced by handpicked Carney cheerleaders.
In Toronto, those assholes ain’t hard to find.

  6. It’s more likely that Mary Ng, doesn’t want to get exposed as doing the bidding for the CCP. She has an Ontario government pension from when she worked in Ontario’s Ministry of Education making sure there was pro-Communist China content in school texts.

Arif Virani has been desperate to keep his job and has been canvassing furiously and knows he doesn’t stand a chance against the extremely attractive Bhutilla Karpoche, a Tibetan Canadian, who like him has nothing but contempt for Old Stock Canadians.

Arif Virani also gets an Ontario government pension as a former human rights lawyer for them often working on discrimination against Muslims and so like Ng gets both an Ontario government pension, a federal MP’s pension and a federal Minister’s top up to that pension, so neither of them has to work a day again in their lives, all at tax payers expense.

  7. Heard from a fella this morning. DND is staffing all available civilian positions prior to a possible government change.

They’re figuring hiring freeze. I’m hoping for 25-50% downsizing.

    1. They can’t recruit but they’ll fill up the bureaucracy to give those in uniform more hoops to jump through…

And it’s a mystery as to why those in uniform get frustrated with this gong show government…

  8. It’s my understanding that if a person retires out of Canada they don’t get to take all of their pension with them. Does that also apply to the high and special overlords, given this is Canada?

  9. Where have I seen this movie before?

Ohhhhh yeahhhh … when Biden was just an afterthought in 2020 … when Bernie Sanders was winning all the Primaries and Biden was getting trounced … and then suddenly … everyone, including Bernie stepped aside for Biden and his puppeteers

  10. Since, in the Liberal government, everyone and his dog is a cabinet minister, it doesn’t have much cachet. The country needs a constitutional amendment or whatever it takes to limit the number of MPs who can be appointed or at least paid as cabinet ministers. It’s just another grift paid for by taxpayers.

      1. I believe that mandate falls to the Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth, Marci Ien.

I now refuse to use the mandated title for all federal ministers because none of them are “honourable”.
