  1. In Liberal Nirvana higher taxes cure everything.
    California, with a 13% personal income tax uses them to manage an environment that is free of fires, mudslides, crime and high gas prices.

    1. Even Californians pay less taxes than we do in Canuckistan. We ARE serfs of the state! We work FOR THE STATE, not for ourselves, hence, productivity falls off a cliff. Someone should explain to the turd what the Laffer curve is.

  2. An earlier post here (https://www.smalldeadanimals.com/2025/02/02/crowd-sourcing-analysis-of-canadian-productivity/ ) raised the key issue: why are Canadians so much less productive than Americans?

    The answer is that the Canadian market is dominated by a small number of very large companies (and marketing boards) which own their regulators. As a result the incentives not only align against change and innovation, but directly favour continuation of whatever the status quo is over any form of change.

  4. Canadian growth and productivity = more consumerism and burning of fossil fuels. Thus plunging numbers in growth and productivity actually help your drive toward Net Zero and a carbon-free Canada! Your lame PM and his criminal Minister Guilbeault are CHEERING this chart! It’s a huge SUCCESS for them. It reflects all those new CLEAN, GREEN, RENEWABLE jobs … eh?

  6. Could it have something to do with the usurious tax rates in the various provinces reaching as high as 53.53% in Ontario? Or that you get hit with a 20% surtax at $93k which goes up to 56% at $109k? Or the $750 Ontario Health Premium that kicks in at $72.6k?

    All to support government workers who effectively don’t pay tax, unless they have investments or side hustles.
