Global- 1.2 million British Columbians are currently waiting to see a specialist: survey
The Consultant Specialists of BC in partnership with Doctors of BC surveyed 1,000 specialists and said the results exposed a “waitlist crisis that is severely compromising the health and well-being of British Columbians.”

Look on the bright side.
The unions are well compensated!

What does one expect from a doctrinaire socialist government?
And, this province just voted for it, despite this being a problem for years.
Well, things have to get a lot worse before the sheeple start to understand that press releases are not facts.
They’re pablum for the babies.
Health care used to be called medical care, not so much anymore.
I would like to know how many on the waiting lists were born in Canada because any waiting area I have seen appears to be majority FOB India, Middle East, Africa then maybe a smattering of addled Caucasians, in that order. Few of them seem capable of any significant productivity. On top of that we are hemorrhaging cash to our rulers in Quebec and their network of strategic saprophytes. The West Wants Out!!
Heh,when you die on a waiting list, the glorious government healthcare minions brag that “At least you were not denied access cause you were poor…Yay Free Medical Care”.
What is the difference?
Denied Medical care versus on a wait list?
“You need to see a specialist..that will be in 8 to 18 months..have a nice day?
Here is a little known fact, in the last 25 years the population of Canada has grown from approximately 30 million to approximately 39 million. Depending on how you want to flux with the numbers it is either a 1/3 increase in growth or a 1/4 increase in growth. The other side of the equation is birth rate in Canada over the same period has shown a negative rate in all but five years. Doesn’t take a mathematical genius to work what is happening and where we are headed, now does it.
Our political class, right across the spectrum, are responsible for the deaths of many thousands, if not more, since 2020. Same in the USA, and not even Trump is giving them the comeuppance they so richly deserve.
“Our political class, right across the spectrum, are responsible for the deaths of many thousands, if not more, since 2020…”
Amen. The deterioration has been going on in all provinces for at least 30 years and all major political parties have contributed to it. The Wuhan flu was just the tipper.
If they were MAID specialists there’d be no wait at all because that’s the only time you’re a customer and not a cost.

Canada’s health care is run by the evil psychos just like pretty much every other government health care.
Crimes against humanity.
No amnesty.
No probs. She can hire the thousands of doctors fleeing the US following Trumps election!! Or doctors from Alberta who want to pay more taxes. Either way it will be great!!
Wobbly Canoe is going to force nurses from the private sector back into the communist way.

Enjoying mass immigration and what it does to you?
“waitlist crisis that is severely compromising the health and well-being of British Columbians.”
But, but, but… it’s FREE! When I eventually get to see a doctor, if I don’t die first, I don’t pay a nickel.
Ummm… no, it’s not ‘free’. It’s government provided. And guess where the government gets the money to provide medical care.
“Following the survey, it was revealed that a specialist’s average waitlist has 282 patients with the first consultation happening at four weeks for urgent cases, 10 weeks for semi-urgent cases, and up to 10 months for non-urgent cases. These waits are further compounded by additional wait times for subsequent diagnostic procedures, treatments, and procedures.”
This is so mind-boggling to me I can’t fathom it. The U.S. system has problems (and Big Pharma’s massive influence is a big one), but if you need a heart procedure or surgery, a hip or knee replacement, cancer treatment or surgery, an MRI, macular regeneration injections — the list goes on — you’ll get it, and quickly.
Why aren’t Canadians totally up in arms about this, and fighting it for all they’re eorth?
That’s a lot of psychiatrists.
They’re getting what they voted for, good and hard.
