  1. My kids sometimes show me short, funny vidoes titled Girl Math. It’s satire about how a person can justify purchases and budgeting using nonsensical, creative math. The vast majority of the studies paid for by the Trudeau Liberals and reported by the Trudeau Liberal funded media are indistinguishable from the satirical Girl Math. Both mathematical models make “sense” only if you’re very gullible and naive.

They also explained to me the concept of Brain Rot, which also is eerily similar to the conduct and thinking of the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government.

That’s the Trudeau years in a nutshell – a Brain Rot government using Girl Math to drive public policy.

    1. According to the “official” bank of canada calculator it was 24.94% over the 8 years from 2015 to 2023
According to the World bank, in constant 2015$ Canada went from $1.56 trillion in 2015 to $1.78 trillion in 2023
Of course the bad number is federal government debt that increase by almost a Trillion CDN dollars in the same timeframe, with nothing to show for it.

      1. That’s the real trick isn’t it? GDP includes government spending. Spend an imaginary 1T on nothing and it boosts the GDP. It also devaluates the currency be an equivalent amount.

        1. OK, I want to temper that comment a little. Responsible government spending can be an economic plus and even limited irresponsible spending can be too. For example, the US builds a new supercarrier. Billions of dollars that they do not have. But, it supports the strategic steel industry. It supports the strategic ship building industry. It pushes the engineering envelope on nuclear, power distribution, electromagnetics and information integration. It creates thousands of direct jobs and supports 10s of thousands of indirect jobs. And they get half the money back in taxes.

  2. Everybody, even simpletons and filthy Liberals, know that they’re not better off under the reign of the Turd.
Fcktard from the TO Star should have his thumbs removed.

    1. Fcktard from the TO Star should have his thumbs removed…..

but then what will he suck….oh wait a minute…..

  3. David Olive must be totally impressed by the number of Zimbabweans who are multi-trillionaires.

    1. Olive is an idiot with only marginal economic literacy.

Most of what passes for “business journalism” is re-tweeting corporate press releases and other facile hyperbole. Olive is true to form.

But we can console ourselves in the knowledge that virtually no one – and certain no one of any consequence – reads the Toronto Star (although in paper form it’s useful for lining bird cage bottoms and wrapping fish in).

FYI: TorStar was valued at over $2 billion in the early 2000s and was sold couple of years back for approx $55 million to some P/E syndicate whose business model was to turn the company into a gambling app.

      All you need to know.

      1. As I recall, much of the worth of the Toronto Star back in the day was its ownership of Harlequin (publisher of romance novels). The Toronto Star sold its stake in Harlequin in 2014 for $455 million. As for the article in question, this is what passes for business journalism in the Star. Truly pathetic.

    2. And all those enriched Venezuelans.
By reducing the value of our currency and printing a whole bunch more of them Trudeau Bucks, the Liberal will insist we are all wealthier.
And only a Liberal or an NDP voter will believe this to be true..
Praising both of their Dear Leaders as they line up at the food bank.

Of course, when ones paycheck depends on Not Seeing any fault in your paymaster..
Then one can expect such wisdom from the like of Mr? Olive
Heh I have a old million peso Mexican note around here somewhere, bet they where assured of how wealthy they had become.

  4. You guys need to send this on to all your leftist friends and relatives. No doubt they will parrot the Toronto Star lies for years to come but at least you can try to educate them. Best wishes from sunny Queensland.

  5. Now if you look at the public sector who gets raises based on inflation as opposed to the private sector who gets raises based on productivity then you begin to see a problem. Imagine the cries of anguish if, instead of raises based on inflation, a public sector worker’s pay was based on an equivalent position’s wage and benefits in the private sector with increases based on wage gains from the private sector.
Who knew that Trudeau’s feminism was based on a desire to use ‘girl math’. Maybe ‘girl math’ should be renamed liberal math or progressive math as few non liberal voting ladies of my acquaintance are as scatter-brained as the lib/progs that we have endured.

  6. After almost 10 years of the LIEberal Crime Syndicate, looting the treasury, the only people better off are part of that group. We need a complete independent forensic audit of the Coalition government and the Trudeau Foundation. Criminal charges and seizure of assets, for starters.

    1. so? did ANY of this result in change in gubbamint?
no. why not? because Canaduh WANTS it. Canaduh WANTS to be led by a notsee channeling hit leur wannabe. and got affirmed with a big round of applause in hoc when a real one showed up.
      etc etc.
will someone please analyze why this is tru[deau]?
because l have yet to see that anywhere

  7. Sure.
One of Zoolander’s first acts was to sell off all of our gold to his cronies.
    That totally made Canada richer.
