  1. It’s a great rant from Carolla. But I can’t agree with him in part. He thinks that this disaster will force a rethink of their socialist politics on the upper class twats who populate Malibu, Pacific Palisades and Santa Monica.

    That’s giving them too much credit. These are a lot of rich, stupid snots who presume that enough money shovelled at their lawyers will get them what they want.

    Fuck ’em. They got what they voted for in Karen (oh such an appropriate name) Bass and Gavin Newscum.

    There’s a quote from a famous movie from decades ago which applies here.
    “I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells of victory.”

    So for me the only real question is, when they can’t rebuild, to where do they flee?

  2. I wonder how many of those homes had electric vehicles and lithium battery storage in them.

    1. Probably close to half. We give them a $7,500 tax credit and then they recklessly burn it up.

    2. But, but, but … internal COMBUSTION engines have more fires! Ohhhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaa … just think of all that fossil fuel being burned!! Quick! Get your masks out … don’t let the children go to school.because of the toxic fossil fuel air.

  3. Which is bigger, the Fort McMurray fire under the NDP government or the current LA fire under the Democrats.

    1. Fort McMurray wildfire

      Area burned = 1.5 million acres
      Structures destroyed = 3244
      Deaths = 2
      Cost = $9.9 billion (direct and indirect)

      LA fires 2025 (so far). Source CalFire

      Area burned = 29,000 acres
      Structures burned = +10,000
      Deaths = 5

      Cost = ? Billions.
      We hear that average home value was say $3.5 million, but I believe that includes the land value.

      I expect all the LA numbers will increase.

  4. Better than you’d think …. I’m guessing.
    What can I say I live in Ontario ……….. California’s Northern cousin.
