  1. “I hate to close a safe space for queer people at this time,” Bebop Waffle Shop owner Corina Luckenbach explained on Instagram, “but the money just isn’t there after the minimum wage increase (which I fully support).”

    I give up.

    1. Yup, that’s the headline quote!

Sadly, reminds me of European woman who have been raped by illegal immigrants but then add that they support the right of such monsters to be there.

Imagine the level of brainwashing that must occur to convince someone to think this way!!!

      1. I remember reading about a German gal working in an immigrant shelter that was raped and killed by a resident and her parents saying that they still supported the muslim invasion taking place in Germany.

    2. It’s political nihilism. Denial that basic economics cannot be wished into something it will never be. Economics are human truth. People will NOT voluntarily kill themselves … let me rephrase … people who aren’t suicidal won’t voluntarily suicide themselves. No reasonably conscious person will spend themselves into poverty and starvation. Basic economics. You can’t wish it were different.

      1. Even commies cannot get away from, or deny, basic economics. It will always eventually bite them in the ass.

  2. Natural progression….a significant number of these business will move to the Seattle suburbs (aka Microsoft Land) and set up shop. They will spread the plague and gut the Bellevues, Kenmores, Issaquas…etc. Eventually, these business owners will bring along the horde who will vote for the very same stupidity…

Then it will be time to move to the next suburb to destroy their economy too. Somehow they keep seeing good intentions in suicide. Oh well.

  3. Vote for stupid people; get stupid results. This misery will go on as long as the Left Coast insists on voting for socialists. Of the largest states in the US, this sort of thing is why California #1 and New York #4 are shrinking in both populationg and GDP, and Texas #2 and Florida #3 are growing.

California has not had a sane state governor since Ronald Reagan in the early 1970s.

      1. Congratulations on your successful membership in the Church of Idiotic Assholes. But then, low grade morons like you find it impossible to keep to the topic.

          1. Bluddy
Yer one of the few who posts in here that is dumber than the cghCOLON.
And that in it’s self is one hell of a feat!

          2. Referring to GYM as a pope!
            That’s rich!
I commend you, sir, on your sense of irony.

Mind if I borrow that? I’m sure GYM will appreciate that.

          3. “His Holiness, the Asshole Pope”! All together now: “Holey, holey, holey, Lord God Almighty!…”

  4. Hundreds of restaurants go out of business every year in Seattle, and Vancouver,B.C. is the same. They cite reasons as; rent increases after lease expiry, trendiness, inflation, cost of wages, and higher taxation.
$20.76 per hour in Seattle is just lovely for the workers, which they can enjoy for a few weeks before their job disappears.
The Mises Institute is very opposed to minimum wages, I wonder what it would be in Seattle if there was no minimum wage, $5/hr?

    1. Her Instagram is now cluttered with “exit” interviews of employees she has let go. How dies one say “I’m qu33r” without uttering the words? Get at a job at the BeeBop.
That aside, all eating establishments have had a tough go, since March 2020. Surprise surprise!

    1. The ever present nose ring of course. Lots of negative head shaking too.
Leftists apparently happy sacrificing their livelihoods to THE CAUSE!
      Can’t
      Fix
      Stupid!

We used to make annual weekend trips to Seattle, but, that ended with Covid, and since the hard, hard left turn that area made during Covidia madness, have decided to not do that anymore. Between the anarchy mayhem, the overt socialism, crime wave black bloc unionists mentality, there’s better places to travel and not reward the madness that’s ever present in the Emerald City.

      1. Likewise. I loved Seattle. Last trip was a bike run. The downtown has rotted out. Not going back.

  5. Not surprisingly, there is a 16 ft. bronze statue honoring Vladimir Lenin in the Freemont district of Seattle.

  6. “but the money just isn’t there”. We’re just not doing it right …

  7. “but the money just isn’t there after the minimum wage increase (which I fully support).”

Next part of the argument: “There oughtabe government support for small businesses like mine, so we can pay a living wage…”

    You know she’s thinking that.

  8. 20% increase in payroll, and of course the payroll taxes that go with it, at a restaurant where typical profit margins are 2 to 3%

  9. Odd that only 10% of restaurants where expected to close due to this catastrophic tipping wage rise. You would think they would all slide under simultaneously. Puzzling,.
