    If he leaves the party has to finesse the timing of the next election by delaying tactics and buying off Jagmeet to give the successor an opportunity to establish themselves appoint a cabinet and define themselves before the opposition does it for them.
    For the last option they must have the election occur in October.
    Oh and during that time they have to hope Trump doesn’t upend the liberals by inacting his plans.

    Hearing the liberal pundits actively promoting the talking point of “all the good things Justin has accomplished” without really saying what those things are.
    Here’s a scenario where Trudeau exits
    He prorogues until June
    Appoints Dominic the intermn leader in the meantime.
    They “finesse” the next anointed one for the leadership and recall parliament for a throne speech chock full of goodies expecting it won’t survive a confidence vote.
    If it does it will be because the NDP can’t fight an election.
    They table a budget and if they had the support to survive a vote on the throne speech the NDP will be given a bauble in the budget to maintain their support.
    But, depending on poll numbers, the liberals could engineer their defeat so they can campaign on the goodies and hope voters forget the last decade.

This is a direct reflection of a national government with a crisis in confidence from Big Money around the world.

        They got no bump from that and given their fiscal credibility is in tatters, now nonexistent, don’t count on that changing with some goodies budget with a new “fiscally responsible” leader like globalist despot of dystopia Carney.

        My sense is if they can continue to bribe the NDP, who are essentially leaderless right now and with their election coffers barer than Mother Hubbard’s cupboard, they will hold out until the last possible moment, which, according to Section 4 of the Charter (higher law than Elections Acts btw), allows this Grit grifter government to continue to “serve,” regardless of who their leader is, for five years, IOW until August 2026.

        Canadians must do what they did with the attempted “minority coalition” of Jack Layton and Stephane Dion with the Quebec traitors, take it to the streets, this time a convoy of people demanding an election NOW.

      There isn’t enough time for the liberals to replace him before they have to call an election in October.
      So they are stuck with him.
      I give the Ottawa scribes in the press gallery the second week of January to figure this out and another week after that to come to terms with it.
      This is a liberal problem
      Liberals will have to fix it
      And by that I mean there are going to have to be 30 liberal back bench MP’s sitting as independents until Trudeau resigns
      There is zero chance this will happen because it means they would have to risk never getting elected for any elected position anywhere after that.
      So the only way he’s removed from the office of PM is by a humiliating defeat.
      By October everyone including liberals will finally understand this.
      By then they will either vote for someone else, or stay home on election day.
      Most likely the latter.
