    As a Catholic, I am just as Appalled as the rest of you are. Just so you know… (are you listening, GYM?) I have always despised that the leadership of the Catholic Church would ascend this creature of the night to the throne of St. Peter.
    And again (are you listening, GYM?), even though I have lost faith in the leadership currently in place in the Vatican, I want people to understand that there are still a few good prelates wearing the red and purple caps, and that there are just as many people in the Catholic faith who has very little to no respect for our current “pope” (note the scare quotes, GYM) as I have. Catholics for the most part are good people who follow the teachings of Christ to the best of their ability, even though the current “pope” does not, so it equally saddens me when people like GYM paint all Christians, especially Catholics with the same broad and tainted brush by referring to them as “biblepounders.” That such defamatory pejoratives, that would be used by some individuals like GYM, are the height of bigotry, but that’s ok. As Christians, we’re getting used to the idea of being oppressed by people who do not worship God.
