  1. Terry is one of those rare persons these days who, when you read him as a conservative OR as a liberal,
you don’t know whether or not you will agree with what he says.
    Most are only too predictable.

  2. Forgive me … I have no idea who this silly fool Terry Glavin is. So I looked him up and see he is a noted signatory of The Euston Manifesto … more stuff I’ve never heard of. So I see this is a key tenet of The Euston Manifesto.

The signatories said they “reject fear of modernity, fear of freedom, irrationalism, the subordination of women”, and

reaffirm the ideas that inspired the great rallying calls of the democratic revolutions of the eighteenth century: liberty, equality and solidarity; human rights; the pursuit of happiness … But we are not zealots. For we embrace also the values of free enquiry, open dialogue and creative doubt, of care in judgement and a sense of the intractabilities of the world. We stand against all claims to a total — unquestionable or unquestioning — truth.

I suggest Terry brush up on the Manifesto he signed onto … like that “free enquiry” part … sheesh, what a tool.

    1. “the subordination of women”

Apparently, using women as sex slaves is okay, but don’t dare you be a companion to a woman willing to look after the house and family.

  3. Is Terry Glavin someone? I’m too lazy to look him up.

If he’s someone I’m supposed to pay attention to well, I’ve just busted myself for slacking. No clue at all who he is.

OK. Looked him up anyhow. So, he’s Heap Big Canadian whose work I’d never run across. I’ll keep my head down and stay out of this. I’ll just read the Canadian reactions. I’m here to learn.

  4. From time to time he has made sense. Not sure which Terry Glavin will show up on any given day.

  5. PS … I never believed in chemtrails either … until the Government/Pharma/Media complex unleashed a non-vaccine vaccine that they claimed was a magic elixir that would SAVE YOUR LIFE. Now, I am open minded about chemtrails and the government’s systematic poisoning of the populace …

Hey Terry! That’s tongue in cheek. A little dark humor … with a little truth embedded to make you THINK … you stale old twit

    1. Chemtrails are most probably BS. That does not mean that the government is not engaged in poisoning.

    1. Bingo.

What we need to focus on is ALWAYS what our “media” types are not focusing on.

The next few years I hope we see some uncovering of some pretty evil stuff.

  6. Glavin has done some good work in bringing to light the CCP and Sikh separatist interference but is a somewhat bitter Substack journalist who bemoans the loss of the old msm monopoly. He has trouble keeping the old progressive snark from bubbling to the surface.

    1. My position on Mr. Gavin is closest to your position. He will never be a pure laine conservative in the sense that SDA purists would like. But currently he is sticking his neck out writing about the child-grave fraud going on when investigating the old residential schools. Currently there is a move to outlaw “residential school grave denialism” — and to punish those in the forefront of of exposing the fraud. Mr. Gavin ekes out a living on Substack and as a Postmedia columnist, and the latter does not pay all that much.

I’m critical of pure laine conservitism because pure laine people don’t realize how weak, in terms of funding and the number of activists, the conservative movement in Canada truly is. Virtually all of the CRTC-controlled broadcast media is left of centre. The CRTC is about to control much of social media news. One could go on, but Canada is centre-left for a reason.

If a conservative is in the trenches working hard and is exposing himself to left-facsist retribution, person deserves some respect. This doesn’t mean such a person can’t be criticized, as in this case. But Canada needs more conservative fighters and organizations, not less.

  7. If nothing else, one might think that the repeated proving of things that were “confidently dismissed by government and the media but-I-repeat-myself to have been a conspiracy theory” to have in fact been completely true might at least invite a little skepticism on the part of someone who purports to be a journalist. And lumping the list in with chemtrails when Epstein and his island did exist, and when there’s a corpse in a jail cell with his accomplice in the slammer, is disingenuous.

I too would wonder whether old Terry had been a client of Jeff and Ghislaine, save that he’s never been nearly important enough to qualify. They only served the famous, powerful, and influential, not superannuated mouthy cranks from the frozen north. But you never know. “There are stranger things in Heaven and in Earth…”

  8. “X is the perfect confluence of algorithms and hysteria”. Interesting that a person with a blue X checkmark would post that on X. Try posting that on BlueSky.

  9. I’m surprised at this. Seems to have gotten his pecker in a twist about something.

Possibly angry at x as his own employment prospects wither.

  10. Quite a few obvious topics of which our “Journalists and Talking Heads ” display an astonishing lack of curiousity.
    Terry Who?
I vaguely remember this character sounding off, didn’t it pass away from Harper Derangement Syndrome and Smelling Salts?
Just another Not See,whose comfortable feeding on the public trough might vanish..Should it criticize Dear Leader and its friends.
And with Dear Leader so destined to fall, all these freeloading “Journalists” have every reason to be bitter.
Their paid silence has all been for nought.
As they have been scooped and exposed by private citizens..on X.
“Oh the agony”…to quote Bugs Bunny.

  11. Terry is one of those old guys who tries to appear younger, cooler and hipper than he really is. Example, look at his x profile pic with that gay scarf and then his pic of a motorcycle like he actually rides it.

    What a tool.

  12. Glavin
    Definitely has unresolved anger issues.
Attacks people who ask for more clarification or discussion
Believes he is highly educated and is the only bearer of Truth
    Like Turdeau narcissistic
His Legacy media platforms has been crumbling during the end of his career
Not a writer I will support financially anymore
    Jonboy

  13. When a Liberal says “Why the F@ck should I care?” they’re afraid, know they’ve lost and stalling while making escape plans.

  14. Glavin is the classic case of a journalist who lives in the echo chamber of major media. His entire world view is shaped by a media that has been bought with government subsidies, tax breaks and outright ownership, a media whose conflict of interest is so pervasive, that those employed in its web do not see it.

  15. I’m a Glavin fan. I’ve subscribed to his Substack from the outset.

I’m not on xbox so I don’t know what exactly he commented on but there are a lot on SDA who’ve never heard of him but have opinions…

Funny I’ve read Glavin for years but have never though of him as a conservative or if he had any political leanings for that matter. I like his Journalism. As mention by DM above Glavin has challenged conventional wisdom on the residential school graves. He’s made some serious enemies on that file and his reporting on Israel is right there.
