US President-elect Donald Trump has picked a leading Covid lockdown sceptic Jay Bhattacharya to be the next director of a key US public health agency.
Trump said he had selected the Stanford University-trained physician and economist to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the world’s biggest government-funded biomedical research entity.
Bhattacharya became the face during the pandemic of a fiercely disputed open letter – known as the Great Barrington Declaration – that opposed widespread lockdowns.

And if you’re wondering, Bhattacharya is not skeptical of the COVID vaccines, although he thinks we should have focused primarily on the highly vulnerable rather than insisting the young take it. This is not some great victory for anti-COVID-vaxxers.
Probably because lockdowns destroyed the lives of public schoolchildren who lost two years of their education (such as it is) … Gavin Newsom’s children continued their private school education unabated. Why? Because private school kids weren’t declared “unclean”
Fauci sought to destroy the Great Barrington Declaration and the people behind it precisely because it threatened the propaganda-fest required to make available the emergency use authorization of the mRNA platform. Dr. Bhattacharya has been a vocal proponent and litigant against the U.S. government’s censorship, notably censorship of the inefficacy and the extraordinary risks of the mRNA technology using toxic spike protein as the principal vector.
BTW, VAERS data indicates that the mRNA stimulation of IgG4 kicks in much more strongly at the fourth injection. Utter disaster.
BTW2: A recent study on excess mortality in European nations 2020-2023 had Sweden as the lowest. Strong evidence that the Great Barrington Declaration was and remains empirically sound.
