Great Success!

Peter St. Onge- Canada is headed for its worst decline in 40 years as economy fails to recover from the pandemic. Under Trudeau, incomes are West Virginia level, house prices are Los Angeles level, and a middle class family might pay *half* their income in taxes. 7 in 10 Canadians now think that “Canada is broken” — rising to 8 in 10 of the young. Almost half of Canadians are considering moving to another country.

Rarely has a country fallen so far so fast.

  1. Lets hope the Dominion of Canada ceases to exist and a new Canadian Republic rises in its place.

    1. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen. There’s nothing going on here that can’t be cured by an honest election and a tax cut.

That’s all they need to do. Sooner or later, that is what they -will- do. The only uncertainty is if Pierre Polievre will be the one to do it.

        1. Government includes the legacy media which insists on propping up Justatwit and covering up for him.

      1. You are the problem. People like you is how we got here.

There has NEVER been an “honest election” in a Western country. The onus is on those claiming elections are honest to prove it. You can’t.

        The end.

      2. The ONLY solution other than disintegration is for the federal government to take HUGE cuts….at least 30% and the tax room shifted to the provinces. The federal government is the problem. Other than that, Canada is finished. Kind of like the former Soviet Union.

        1. I would wager that an 80% cut in federal gov’t would be a good place to start.

          1. Elon Musk got rid of 80% of the ‘workers’ when he bought twitter and the only difference is that fewer conservatives are being banned and it’s all running smoothly,

The same thing would occur if we tossed 80% of government.

      3. OMG you are delusional. This shithole will not survive, the only question is the speed of impact and the casualty count.

      4. election? ELECTION???? isnt THAT what got us here in the 1st 2nd and 3rd place?

oh oh oh poo widow middow cwass in CanaDUH dun getting demseffs WIPED OFF THE MAP WITH THEIR VOTING BEHAVIOUR.

suck it up buttercup ha ha ha !!!

      5. “The only uncertainty is if Pierre Polievre will be the one to do it.” – The Phantom. The tax cut will not be done by any politician. It will be done naturally as the economy collapses and with it all businesses. No businesses, no employees and no taxable activity. The Weimar Republic collapsed when hyper inflation destroyed the value of money. It reached the point that govt employees quit going to work because their wages would not even cover the cost of getting to work!!! Yet they were all billionaires!

The Soviet Union collapsed because communism as an economic system failed. Now, we will prove that democracy is only marginally better than communism because the incentives are the opposite to wealth creation. In short, democracy attracts narcissists and exhibitions, ie. con artists who know that they have a limited amount of time to enrich themselves with impunity by whatever means that are available before they are turfed.

An economic collapse is on our horizon. It is not a question of if but when. Vote carefully for your next con artist and choose wisely with the full knowledge that collapse is inevitable.

    2. No. Get rid of the federal level of government and make each province it’s own entity. The feds don’t do anything useful at all. Other than national defence and foreign affairs both of which they suck at everything they do is replicated at the provincial level or totally unnecessary.

      1. Well the truth is, the federal level of government in a confederation is NOT the senior government of the country. Each province IS it’s own entity.

In a confederation, provinces come together creating a loose (often temporary) union for matters of political, economic or administrative convenience. Within a confederation, member provinces maintain their sovereignty and often appoint a weak central authority to speed up bureaucratic matters.

You may recall during the Constitutional wars when Pierre Trudeau was also trying to destroy the country, he made some kind of a stupid comment about the federal government not being a waiter to the provinces or some such idiotic thing.

      1. America is screwed too. Just as corrupt and bankrupt as Canada. Wait for that debt bomb to go off. Maybe China will save the world

        1. seeing as they own half of Ahfricah with their foreign ‘aid’ infrastructure projects, the rest of the globe gonna follow, the engine driving the vehicle being insurmountable DEBT DEBT DEBT DEBT DEBT DEBT DEBT

  2. L – Importing entrepreneurs to restore the economy? I’d make a comment on this, but I’m trying to clean
    up my language.

“Quebec man expresses regret for helping defraud Saskatoon seniors in ‘grandparent scam’”

Ahmad Ebad Ebadi, 26, posed as a bondsman sent to collect money from seniors who thought they were bailing a grandson out of legal trouble.https://thestarphoenix.com/news/crime/quebec-man-expresses-regret-for-helping-defraud-saskatoon-seniors-in-grandparent-scam

    1. “Expresses regret”

Yeah, at being caught, not at defrauding kaffirs, cause defrauding non-muslims is in accordance with the Koran.

    2. ha ha ha !!! saw a sign in some office just today cautioning about ‘grandchild in trouble’.
and nigerian prince is still waiting for his cut.
l got an email scam around 2010 and backtracked it to an island off Lagos Niggeria.
CanaDUH is DOOMED because the avg IQ is less than half 72 years ago when l was born.

    1. More like Liberal Party of Canada government imported unchecked, unvetted 3rd world, amoral
      immoral criminal trash

      1. in the CORRECT assumption of the ones that eventually vote, will vote liberal. see how that works? clever clever clever there paul martin, stephan dion, justine et al

  3. OTOH … I am going to buy as much shit in Canada as I can with my BIG American Biden $ Bucks!! Come on Canada … lower your interest rate faster! Further! Make your Looney worth less than a loony tune.

I used to like the Peso exchange rate … now I’m all about the Looney!! Gooooo!! Justin!! Goooo Freeland!! Crash THAT Canadian economy.

  4. 40% of those who can vote, owe their income to the kleptocracy.
Their income depends on the theft continuing.
    This is Can Ahh Duh.
And the voters of Ontario,Quebec and the Eastern Welfare provinces are all A OK with the current State of Thuggery and the intent that taxpayers of the West shall pay their bar bill.
That being stated as “We have borrowed against the earnings of children yet unborn, thus this bill will fall upon those who chose to have children and those who choose to engage in productive behaviour.”
    The residents of Western Canada.

When we exit Canada we must also choose to abandon the stupid behaviour that killed confederated Canada.
Allowing State employees to vote,is an absolute conflict of interest.
State Welfare is a license to steal.
    Bureaucratic Healthcare can never work.
    Could never work.
But we had to prove that by wasting billions of dollars and at least 30 000 lives per year.
    To wind up with MAID.
Exactly what Tommy Douglas’s critics predicted.

Government must be limited, for it provides very little good for those who bear its cost, yet provides great opportunity for leeches and parasites.
A Just Us System destroys all Law and Any Order..

What should a patriot do,when faced with our current State of Thuggery?

  5. But but but Garth Turner says things are good here, the rest of the world is worse……this is the same guy that says sell your house and become a renter…..

  6. Almost half of Canadians are considering moving to another country

And the other half are still willing to vote for this dipstick.

‘Canada’ is the Indian word for ‘stupid liberal voters’.

    1. The other half are people without a safety dual citizenship.

The half that are considering moving are more accurately, considering moving back. The free shit isn’t plentiful enough to survive in this craphole.

      1. Yeah, we’re part of the half that’s decided to move. Part time at first until we find the right country for us. A person looking at retirement can have a much higher standard of living elsewhere and have the ability to pay for healthcare instead of sitting on waiting lists or being offered MAID. The Trudeau Liberal-NDP government has put Canada into a deep hole of debt and dysfunction that will probably take 20 years to recover from, if ever. I have never voted for either party so I feel no obligation to clean up the mess. My other half isn’t a Canadian citizen so we have the option to return to his country or go elsewhere.

        1. OK, so where are you moving to? Can you tell me how it would be better?
Some of us are too old to pull up roots unless it was a proven place to emigrate to.
Otherwise, stay here, the only place I know, and hope for change (hope, because you can’t vote for it, you fools).
          FOOK you know Who

          1. We have a list of countries we want to check out, mostly based on friends, family and coworkers who have already made their move.

All countries have issues but few have the all of the terrible combinations that the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government created – high tax, high debt, poor public services, high cost of living, rapidly increasing crime, more takers than makers, increasingly authoritarian (example: covid policies, ev, carbon taxes, net zero), low productivity, unsustainable immigration etc, etc. All which adds up to more and more taxation.

Anyone who has built up a decent nest egg, has noticed with alarm the decline of our country and who is watching the federal government’s new narrative about “generational fairness”, “rich homeowners” and “racial equality” understands where this is going.

  7. Depressing.

Liberal males and women voters don’t care, they would all get their panties in a twist if you suggested voting differently.

Where did John Galt move to?

  8. As one commentor on another blog recently noted about another story (Indian immigrants publicly pooping all over Ontario’s Wasaga Beach): “Canadian white women: this is the world you voted for!”

    ‘Nuff said.

  9. Canada taxes its citizens to the max but the government and the services it delivers operates more and more like a corrupt third world country.

It feels like everything is broken :
-the social contract between citizens and their elected governments
-rapidly increasing crime rates (including government corruption and police ignoring those crimes plus most other crimes, except for giving out fines)
-depressing rates of poverty, open narcotics use and homelessness
    -a deteriorating standard of living
    – a parliamentary system that is neither accountable nor responsible to citizens in any way
-public services like healthcare, passports, legal system, etc. that are dysfunctional and getting worse every year.
    – blatant political corruption
    – a constitution that the federal government routinely violates and a charter of rights that does not actually guarantee any rights for citizens
    -an obviously biased court system.
    – no national unity because the federal government has used regional divisions to harvest votes for decades

Canada is a failed experiment. I doubt there’s much worth saving in this demented Dominion.

    1. “Canada is a failed experiment. I doubt there’s much worth saving in this demented Dominion.” That is a big part of the problem, Canada was never an experiment, it was a place for cowards to congregate safely from their betters who revolted against the British crown…..that, and leftover French. Small wonder it is what it is, it always was.

      1. Got that right. What is the other L word for Loyalist? LOSER or Liberal. Same darn thing.

  10. 40 years ago Lucifer Bouchard opined that “Canada is not a real country.” He was right.

What is the glue that binds us? The thing that defines Canada? The issue we would be prepared to fight for, the mountain we’re prepared to die on?

There is nothing that meets the definition. We are not a real country.

Our government pits regions against each other for political purposes. Our Prime Minister is quick to call regions he doesn’t like names. We have provinces that are the first among ‘equals’ and others that are beholden to the federal government. Does this sound like a successful formula for a modern first world country?

Let’s quit pretending and grow up. The country is on a collision course with history. Without radical change it will collapse under it’s own weight. Every day brings us one day closer. We’re not a real country

  11. There are too many people on the governments payroll, all three levels. What is the optimal percentage? Then wean down to that number. After that, for every new employee, another must go.
    Nice dream, eh?

    1. You’re right. 21 percent of the working population is directly employed by one of the three levels of government. At any one time another 8 to 10 percent is engaged on taxpayer-funded contracts. The current (official) unemployment rate hovers just under 6 percent, and another small but significant percentage draws Workmen’s Compensation or a disability pension.

So, we can quite comfortably say that 55 percent of workers support the other 45 percent.

  12. Maybe we could use the Bible as a guide. The tithe (tax) was 10%. Sounds about right. All levels of government combined get 10%. Not a penny more or less.

  13. I guess that will alleviate the housing pressure for the Americans that are going to move to Canada if Trump is elected;)

  14. I propose a new tax to unburden our economy. To be paid by Liberal and NDP voters/supporters. They’re the ones who did this to us.

    1. Liberals and NDP are all about choice. We should have ballots that tie directly to your tax rate. Same with electricity. A customer likes wind or solar generated electricity? Show them the direct cost and let them choose how much they want from said sources. I would wager the turbines and panels would come down lickedly split.

    1. 1980? try 1929. Canadians are in full on second Great Depression but most haven’t noticed yet.

  15. saw a chart on the laffer curve where the balance between effective government and maximizing economic growth (read private sector) was about 30% which was about the government take when I was born. What we have now are career politicians spending borrowed money to buy votes and darn (sorry Kate, almost said damn) the economy. There are no repercussions for them as both their salary and pensions are indexed. Need a revolution.

  16. abtrapper at 6:22 pm, “Let’s quit pretending and grow up.”

This is what the Liberal Party of Canada has intentionally not allowed the provinces (except one) to do. The provinces are adult children chained up in basement cages by evil caretakers, for so long they think it’s natural. In fact the natural political evolution for all Canadian provinces is to ‘grow up’ and become sovereign, not out of spite, but because it’s time.
