Real life is not a Cheech and Chong bit.
Driving- More and more Canadians on drugs are crashing cars.
Based on traffic fatalities, driving while stoned is now a bigger problem than speeding, alcohol, and even distracted driving.
One striking difference noted by the TIRF, however, is that while the young tested positive for cannabis, those 65 and up were usually under the influence of central nervous system (CND) depressants which, according to the National Cancer Institute, includes anything that slows the brain, relaxes the muscles, or prevents anxiety (essentially everything from benzodiazepines to barbiturates and even some sleeping pills).
Read the whole thing.

This is just a prelude to their next step to deprive people of freedom of movement. No doubt MADD will get on board and demand everyone taking drugs has to be reported to the local DMV, and restrictions will follow. I take no drugs at all, so I’m not worried, but one can see this is about removing more rights.
I do not fear the driver on the road who had a couple of drinks and stays within the speed limit, as much as I fear walking downtown Winnipeg at any time of day.
Potholes, mosquitoes, and random stabbings make Winnipeg the summer paradise that it is.
Made From What’s Real. Real Steel.
You just need to drive around to know this without needing a drug test to prove it.
The logical and entirely predictable outcome of legalizing weed and effectively decriminalizing opiates and barbiturates by failing to prosecute for possession.
“Wait, people are driving STONED now?
Gee, who’d have thunk it?”
we’ll just see more restrictions on vehicles for your own “safety”
Biden already mandated interlocks for all new vehicles.
Interlocks used to be one of the only growth industries in withering mining communities devastated by Climate Cupcake regulations. Not to worry, though, this will probably only add $5,000 to the cost of new vehicles.
Newsflash….for decades, some people have been driving while drugged, drunk, distracted, and dumb.
Indeed… An unasked question in all of this is whether the increased incidence of “stoned” drivers crashing cars is real, or of it is because drug-testing has become more common (or even now a standard) after a car crash.
A related question is whether alcohol/drug combination is a significant factor in serious crashes.
Thee real problem on the roads are ppl who don’t know how to drive, and that is about 90% of todays drivers.
That many can’t drive stick is one big marker. Others can’t drive with a trailer on , or just plain back up in reasonable fashion.
Are drugs a problem, or is this more gaslighting? To push the “narrative”, which is my bet.
And why MAADD are the most hypocritical pieces of sh** on the planet.
Everything was going swimmingly well with their crusade against alcohol until their pal Trudeau put them between a rock and a hard place with respect to legalizing marijuana.
Not a peep.
And of course partnering with LCBO to put more coin in your coffers is the ultimate insult.
Hey, wait until the mushrooms are legalized.
In BC, we have BC Liquor and BC Cannabis stores. Won’t be long before we have BC Brothels. It’s all about money.
Yeah, but coming home from a whorehouse doesn’t impair your driving.
Oh noes! Something must be done! Think of the children!
Reeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
Just legalize meth and coke. Speeding and road rage might go up, but at least they won’t be falling asleep at stoplights.
The solution:

51 seconds
Going north on the 401 boxed inbetween semis on 3 sides less a carlength away at 110kph tightened the whiteys.
WTF is the rush?
Ride ass your own size.
Stoopid. Not safe.
No doubt weed has contributed to an already growing problem. Those hand-held thingamajigs are the largest culprit.
Don’t be a square. Weed contributed nothing to this problem. It is all about 3rd world drivers and Asians.
Sorry, being racially real right here. I know guys who have driven on weed for over 50 years with clean driving records. I may fit that category, but will disavow it being factual. if pressed.
Practice, practice, practice.
Couple of things they didn’t say.
1) A large and growing percentage of heavy truck drivers are from India. Nobody says nuttin’ about that.
2) Cellphones are worse than three drinks for causing accidents. Most times I’ve witnessed something appalling on the highway, the idiot was looking at their phone. Those friggin’ screens they put in cars these days? Nightmare.
3) Everybody in Ontario will tell you that the nature of highway traffic changes dramatically between roughly Oakville and Mississauga, getting worse and worse as you get closer to Toronto. QEW, 401, 400, all the same. Coming the other way from Kingston, it changes between Ajax and Pickering. The slow and stupid get slower and stupider. The fast and reckless become -much- faster and far more reckless. Lane-hoppers and tailgaters become the norm, not the exception. Morons going 90K in the fast lane, also normal.
And you -never- ever ever see a cop car. Ever.
They’re occupied monitoring your internet feed.
The one time traffic got better on the QEW between Burlington and Toronto was when the Bob Rae NDP government was in power and traffic disappeared because he And Pink Floyd ran the economy down in the early1990’s. They didn’t help by turning the 407 into a toll highway that Mike Harris had to sell to pay off the government debt
Immigrant Drivers are a Huge Problem. Drive anywhere near toronto and tell me otherwise. The Chinese in Vancouver, Indian and Chinese in Toronto, are terrible. Government is the BIGGEST PROBLEM.
Bike Lanes, not enough Highways, and crappy maintenance. They pushed people to live in Suburbs and then make the Cities undriveable. You voted for Olivia Chow, Toronto, sooooo
This is the start of the Dystopia. I drive a lot. Drugs are not the problem. This is another way to target YOU and your death machine called a car. To a FILTHY LIBERAL It might as well be a gun. Imagine how much the Marxists hate the Black Cars? Just like a scary Black Rifle.
BAN FILTHY LIBERALS
It’s bad in SK too. “New” Canadians (or migrants or whatever the flashy term for immigrants is) are visibly involved in many of the fender benders around Stoon and Regina. They are increasingly taking over from young teenage drivers as the main perpetrators of poor driving.
I understand this in anecdotal but I see it with my own eyes in our streets.
Well I wish weed could be used to excuse the idiots on their cell phones, trying to reach the speed of light from a stop. And come out of warp just in the nick of time.
Stoned is the new normal.. So much so that people who are not stoned need to pay higher insurance.. BUT I’m not sure stoned overrides stupid and distracted.. It seems to fit BUT a great many things have changed on our roads..
Every time I see a picture of Sox he’s wearing a formerly illegal smile.
Dang, I guess I gotta catch up on the new trends again?

“…Unlike alcohol- and speed-related fatal crashes, women are over-represented in distracted-driving deaths by some 16 points….”
No shit. The number of Women waiting at a RED light, using their phone, oblivious to the now green light is any indication…I have no doubt of the above.
And without a racist bone in my body, why is it the when driving in NE Calgary, its Not at ALL uncommon to see some E. INDIAN Guy texting while he’s driving…? And I don’t think I’m alone in this.
