    2. Putin will have to strike at Western leadership eventually. It looks like he is doing that through the courts so far. The verdicts from March to June 2022 cases have just been handed down, so let that sink in: it’s a very long list they are going through. Once arrest warrants are issued for senior Western officials, it starts to get very difficult for Western corporates who have ties to these people to operate in countries like Brazil, China and India. At some point it’ll just be cheaper to just have people like Lindsey Graham offed, to save a massive foreign business deal… Save face and gives the Russians what they demand. Justice gets served, I guess.

      After May 19th, Zelensky and his government are dead men walking – Russia will not recognise their “government” since elections have been suspended and the opposition arrested and banned. Russia will not be alone in this, and so with China and India’s tacit blessing, the Ukrainian government will become first strike targets. Then the war will stop, and most of Eastern Ukraine including Odessa will go back to Russia. Oh well. We coulda had a deal. We chose Vietnam v4.0 instead.

        1. Canada is not so much “broken” as it is the solution to a unique set of problems circa 1867, that simply are no longer relevant, nor fit for purpose. Since Canada is not, and has never been an actual “nation”, and is now proudly boasting of that fact, well, the onpy thing holding a state like that together is the relevance and effectiveness of its solutions and its framework.

          Canada, as a vast political, procedural and geo-economic structure is simply no longer fit for purpose. That’s all.

          None of this is “tragic” … it just is. So, once you realise Canada was way too specific a set of policies, procedures and solutions to way too specific a set of problems, you realise it (a) cannot be “saved”, and (b) really shouldn’t be!
