So what? If people don’t like water-rationed, Chinese-owned apartments, they will simply move elsewhere. That’s why people are fleeing California, New York, Massachusetts and Illinois.
Really? Ask a useful hardworking common sense twenty year old let’s say in Ontario what they think. And with current political climate and culture where the heck they move too. I don’t know for sure if the progs planed this or cowardly Conservatives let this happen. But it’s far from so what . It’s all tied to all the prog buzz words that have come to pass, but took hold of a society. There is no give and take with Modern Liberalism. It’s amazing that it’s still something a society tolerates. Starting in the early 1980s, Newfoundlanders were going in thousands to Alberta seeking skilled work after the collapse of the Atlantic fisheries. In Quebec, thousands of English-speaking Canadians fled the province to Ontario after the election of Rene Levesque in 1976.

I understand how you feel but lately I have to say I’ve been running into 20 something males and females that would agree or at least understand where you and I are coming from there are useful kids mind you yes they are rare. And I find most that I have usually worked with in the summers have either paid attention to some old school grand parent, or strick , no nonsense parent that kept them grounded and actually said No and meant it. I can’t argue with you asking where they are but they are there and to be honest I have to confess I feel sry for them. Do we really want vital things like heart surgery or flying commercial aircraft performed by someone who meets some progressive agenda as to how people should look? Or do we think it’s a good idea for patients to survive heart surgery or the next air flight?
What we are really discussing is the helplessness of individuals confronted with state-level insanity. So, like the Jews in Germany in the 1930s, if we have the means we flee the country.

This is about Utah. Yes, the economy is one of the strongest in the USA. It is also one of the lowest tax jurisdictions (for now), ranking as 8th best in the country.
The troubling thing is the change in the economy away from mining, forestry etc to education, health care, and government. How can that be sustained? My expectation for Utah is that it has hit a maximum, soon to be infiltrated by the left with higher taxes, poorer services and the inevitable slow decline that is killing America.
Utah has been run by Republicans continuously since 1985 although prior to that there was a healthy mix of Democrats and Republicans. If you look at the list of best states for low taxes, looks like the top 10 might be all Republican (Wyoming, South Dakota, Alaska, Florida etc.) and the bottom 10 all Democrat (New Jersey, New York, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts etc.).
