  1. Re “too much free speech” I had no idea that Lawrence Martin was still writing, or even alive.

And is the writer being facetious when he writes: “Globe and Mail is Canada’s most widely-read newspaper on weekdays and Saturdays, so we better take it seriously.”*

*When Michael Harrington was once called “America’s leading socialist”, William F. Buckley – in an anecdote repeated by Malcolm Gladwell – said it was a distinction on the order of being the tallest building in Wichita, Kansas.

    1. I enjoyed his vocabulary. He could insult a person and they would not realize they were insulted. My Mother could do that.

      1. “I enjoyed his vocabulary. He could insult a person and they would not realize they were insulted. My Mother could do that.”

Now we have Conrad Black to do that.

    2. Yes. He smoked it at least once. And when someone once asked him if he had ever seen a porno film he said “I’ve done all sorts of contemptible things” (or something to that extent; Mr. Strauss is attempting to quote from memory).

  2. Can there even be a “leading socialist”.?

America’s ‘leading’ socialists own property, have money, power and shite for brains. Think chomsky, bernie sanders, any of those low lifes.

    1. Well, to the extent that there is a road to ruin, socialists have a proven capacity for leading people on it!

  3. TDS: which literary character most represents a TDS Prog? Capt Ahab and his obsession with
The Great White Whale Or Sauron? Sauron wasn’t stupid he was blinded by his greed and lust for power. He was defeated because he couldn’t conceive that his adversaries might do the right thing or that they wouldn’t use the ring of power for their own purposes, or that, astonishingly, they would destroy it.

    1. Ahab. He had an almost religious vengeful obsession and lead his crew to their death, through bribes, intimidation and demagogery.

    2. Remember Col. Nicholson from Bridge on the River Kwai? Alec Guinness portrayed an impeccable British officer whose hubris drives him to build a superior bridge which would, when completed, would advance the Japanese army. Only at the last minute does he realize his insanity and fall upon the detonator. Brilliant movie.

  4. Everyone should watch the climate scam movie and send it to their friends (and enemies).

For those who have trouble believing that this is a deliberate scheme to impoverish, or “degrow”, the West and form a global government, then point out the very documents in which this has been spelled out.

The Limits to Growth Club of Rome 1972
    The Brundtland Report 1987
The First Global Revolution The Club of Rome 1991

You shall own nothing and be happy.

Just a quick note on the Brundtland Report. Gro Brundtland was an ex-socialist PM of Norway; it provided a new purpose and direction to the demoralised socialists, leading them to take over the environmental movement. Hence today’s Watermelons, green outside and red inside.

    1. The Brundland Report is formally The Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development: Our Common Future, published by the United Nations.

  5. Unfortunately, lots of Canadians agree with Lawrence Martin. They are happy to have only one point of view out there (e.g. the planet is boiling) so long as it reflects their political perspective. I have a certain number of lefty friends, and they do not have concerns about our one-sided media and its failure to cover important issues — such as NCI, increasing concerns about vaccine safety, etc .). If you have dissenting views, they would rather not hear them.

    1. The Globe and Mail AND New York Times are both simultaneously praising the hottest oxymoron “Excessive free speech”. The same week London England is announced to have passed into minority white population status.
The people that will be surprised when Sharia law rules London don’t juxtaposition, eh.

  6. cant read ther border blowup thing a goddamn hotel ad keeps bouncing up and down on the left side

    1. fixed it, just had to zoom out enough to fit the story onto the unaffected area on the display screen.
see? theres almost always a hack. aint technology wunnerful

  7. With respect, Victor Davis Hansen articles are getting pretty stale, always seems to be 12 months behind what others are reporting. Brian Cates on Substack or Truth Social would be a good upgrade on current events.

  8. “We had no involvement and never spoke to the Speaker’s office.”

Did they speak to the PMO or reichmidget freeland?

  9. To much free speech, oh how they just ooze snobbery. He’s getting raked over the coals on twitter.
