  1. Why stop there? Let them get doctorates in medicine too. Heck, lets let them bolt doors onto jets too.

Just look at any good or service you buy. Competence no longer matters and work is not something anyone takes pride in anymore.

  2. I doubt the The OCDSB (Ottawa School board) fails more than .5% of kids a year.
Every teacher I know says it is near impossible to fail a student. To even get expelled, you have to do something very serious, that if an adult had done, would get jail time.

  3. I DO hope the parents raise hell about this, but knowing how many woke parents are about, it may just become the New Normal.
I’d pray for an asteroid, but I know no one is listening.

  4. So these kids that kinda/sorta pass what do they do at their future jobs? Kinda/sorta work? How many chances do they get in the real world?

Why can’t kinds fail at school? They’re going to in the real world, a participation trophy isn’t going to help when there’s 1000 other people lining up for your job.

    1. “How many chances do they get in the real world?”
As many as the Progs can pull out of their a—es, and hand them.
Your right of course, but the progs know how to keep the blinders on their subjects.

  5. Read the article. They would participate, not graduate. Get to walk the plank with their school mates, but still not graduate. Remove the stigma of not getting up there with their friends. Hopefully return to actually graduate.

They’re looking to screw around with the awards too: de-gendrize, lower values, etc. Also not award them til after the ceremony so they have time to scrutinize them properly as they have ten extra days on the schedule and this will stress them out to do them on time.

Don’t agree with this at all, got to learn how to handle failure too.

  6. Teachers are with students only 4.5 days per week now. What has giving teachers “Professional Deveopment Time” produced in terms of well rounded graduates?

  7. l bumped into this grade 8
1st time ever we ALL passed at that school.
    whole kit and caboodle.
    the year? 1964
later l found out about the peter principle.

  8. For comedic effect let everyone participate then at the ceremony announce who graduated (stand to the right and receive anpplause) and who failed (stand to the left and feel the shame of the mocking laughter). Humiliation as motivation.

  9. Ottawa school board could make graduation ceremonies more ‘inclusive’ — by allowing those who didn’t pass to participate

Heh….and guys, you’ll want to tune into the next Summer Olympics. I plan on standing on the victory platform after NOT winning the 100. Looking forward to those juicy sponsorship contracts.

  10. Funny how the 2+2=5 cult can do math very, very well when it comes to their compensation and staffing though.
