  1. Said it before and will say it again. It is far from a coronation for Pierre. I have met numerous people disatified with Trudeau ,but it appeared they would likley vote for him. 60 % or more don’t trust conservatives ( even if it’s only in name) and even more are afraid of Pierre. Sask and Alberta don’t matter.

    1. Nothing is a slam-dunk in this era of rigged elections.
Kim Campbell can no longer be called a conservative. She’s too far gone to the left. Maybe in the Red Star’s eyes, but that would be wishful thinking on their part.

      1. Campbell is a huge P progressive. Conservative doesn’t exist in her, not even small c.

    2. Agree, counting chickens before hatched etc. FWIW, a question the other day from someone in Scotland, viewed from afar with no personal stake … sees Justin as a nutcase but wonders if Poilievre would be much different or an improvement.

    1. She was a blip. Hardly a PM in ’93 for very long replacing Muldoon when he decided he had enough. If you blinked, you were very likely to miss her time in office, and thank goodness that she didn’t have the opportunity to do any damage as a CINO PM.

    2. She’s labeled a “progressive conservative” … Aiiiiiieeeeeee!! That … sounds scary as hell. I’m quickly running in the opposite direction of her.

      1. She seems so hectoring, self-righteous and off-putting that I have a hard time imagining ANY organization electing her to lead anything more consequential than say, spearheading the delinquent book collection drive at the local public library.

Are you telling me that a political party would be so tone-deaf as to select this woman to lead it?? And what kind of Conservative would be muddled enough to add the adjective “progressive” to its party name? If you are trying to telling that such creatures once bestrode the nation, I really choose to blot it all out.

        1. She took the PC party from a majority to two seats. She was a sacrificial lamb so Mulroney didn’t have to face the voters.

  2. Mulroney killed the PCs and Kim Campbell was their token female undertaker. Being the first female (unelected) PM for a few months was her claim to fame for the rest of her token career in academia. When it came to being a Progressive Conservative, she was just the “progressive” part. She is a perfect reminder of the utter uselessness and irrelevance of Red Tories.

    1. “When it came to being a Progressive Conservative, she was just the “progressive” part. She is a perfect reminder of the utter uselessness and irrelevance of Red Tories.”

That’s for sure. The PC party died for good reason: because Canada does not want or need two Liberal parties.

    2. Actually, Mulroney left the party in good shape and they were expected to clean up in the election. Until Kim Campbell started campaigning, of course. She killed the party. Being a woman, she wouldn’t take the responsibility and cheerfully blamed Mulroney.

      1. I’ll take issue with Mulroney leaving the party in good shape. The reason he quit was because he saw what was going on with the polls at the time.

        1. Kim Campbell was over 40% in the polls at tge start of the election. When she said election campaigns are no place to debate healthcare, that was all the liberals needed to demonize her. Actually she already was a demon but it was just exposed for all to see.

I love her greatest achievement Kate wrote.

  3. I never got past the fact that there is something called “International Women’s Day.” I looked it up, and sure enough, it’s an actual thing. But, that’s not all. Apparently, in November there is something called “International Men’s Day.”

Ladies and Gents, I present to you actual documented proof that there are people out there with WAY WAY too much free time on their hands.

    1. In recognition of its importance, Vladimir Lenin, founder of Russia’s Communist Party, declared Woman’s Day an official Soviet holiday in 1917. Communists in Spain and China later adopted the holiday as well. (Sometime after 1945, the terminology shifted, and “Woman’s Day” became “Women’s Day.”) Until the mid-1970s, International Women’s Day would be celebrated primarily in socialist countries.

In 1975, recognized as International Women’s Year, the United Nations General Assembly began celebrating March 8 as International Women’s Day. By 2014, it was celebrated in more than 100 countries and had been made an official holiday in more than 25.

  4. Oh no! Failing to secure the much sought after Kim Campbell endorsement is the kiss of death.

  5. Brings to mind a quote by Brian Mulroney “there’s no whore like an old whore”.

  6. And let’s not forget KC’s Youth Justice Act which delineated a minimum of 7 court appearances for any young offender and more lenient sentencing, such that it has become a standing joke.

  7. I thought Justin’s daughter was going to be the first female pm of Canada,
Seriously Kim Campbells opinion, come on red star your that desperate why don’t you try talking to the as you elitists call us the common people.
I have listened to people that surprise me, people I know are to the left. They are fed up with this woke shit from this pm, they are talking about pollieve not dishing him but they are voting for him.
Time has come for the people to demand our opposition mps to force an election, Enough is Enough

I wish I could say I was surprised that they find Poilievre’s political leanings to their liking.

  8. How come women, a very deep integral part of civilization, get only a day, but rainbow weirdos get a month? Or a season now?

    1. @John: Come on, they get 1 day where they are not expected to be in the kitchen. Can’t have a whole month absent.

  9. Quotes like KC’s solidify my belief this country is full on socialist. Even conservatives in this unserious state run joke are socialists. I’d say 10% are actual conservative, with actual conservative values.
Health wise, I’d be better off to dump all news, social media ( blogs etc) and just be as surprised at the state of things like all the other normies. I really dislike this country. Even my once proud independent province of AB is going woke.
