  1. I worked with a lot of US Navy Nukes in my utility nuclear power career. Good Men. They had high standards and expectations for the people they worked with. They made the Power Reactors run safely.

I even worked with a former US Army Reactor Operator too.

    1. A long time ago I used to report monthly project data to the former admiral of the US Pacific nuclear submarine fleet. That’s all I can say about that.

      1. Paul.
I’ve been reading about Russian nuke submarines that can deploy drones with nuke weapons anywhere off our coastal area’s and be fired if needed from miles away.
        ScaryShit. ..

    1. I don’t know about Saskatchewan, farmerboy, but in my State in the Midwest, we’d go up to the lake with our girlfriends to watch the submarine races. Hard to tell who won with the windows all fogged up. [*wink*]

  2. My nephew was a nuclear submariner based in Okinawa. He served for 6 months on the nuke, and then they transferred him to a tactical combat sub, which is very small. After about 2 weeks, he tried to break through the ocean hatch and had to be transferred back to Medical. He was worried that they would kick him out of the service, but his captain told him that he would not be disciplined and it was not going on his record that it happened.
3 months later, he saw the captain and said, “Are you at base Captain?” He said no, I used a pistol, and I tried to break out also. it’s funny but true.
Special thanks to those who serve in the small combat subs…

  3. Work with a woman who was married to a submariner in the US Navy. They tried to keep their marriage together but could not. 6 months away from you spouse is a killer. A retired officer said that on his last deployment that of the 135 sailors on board only two of them were in long lasting marriages.
