    1. Traditional clashes as well in every system we have full of ass kissers, brown nosers and back stabbers…the Military was some experience when you blew up an (enemy) officer in the field only to have the whole system looking to get rid someone innovative and adapt to the situation given. Rumors of insubordination charges and other charges was flying as other officers felt it was against the system and not the dumb ass individual who put himself into the situation.

  1. The only “Weapons” Conservatives deployed was iron clad evidence of the massive academic incompetency of President Gay.

If Harvard President Gay had been a competent academic scholar, she would have survived her stupid and reprehensible antisemitic comments to Congress. In fact, she already had survived as her fellow Democrats covered for her and one of her fellow University Presidents. No one was holding a $100 million threat over her head.

All Conservatives need to defeat modern Liberalism is for the Liberal Mainstream Media to honestly expose the stupidity of liberals and the hypocrisy of their actions, which the media will never admit.

  2. On the Althouse blog a commenter pointed out that Gay is not an ADOS, American Descendant of Slaves. Isn’t that what Affirmative Action was intended to correct? Can you argue that Gay insinuated herself into a slot meant for a genuine descendent of American (US) slavery ala Elizabeth Warren insinuating herself into an opportunity meant for a genuine Native American????

  3. AP: conservative attacks on higher education.
Me: conservative promotion of higher education.

  4. Kate.

Have you seen this? Talk about nuts.

A court in Ontario, Canada has ruled the slang term ‘groomer’ – used to describe individuals targeting young people or minors for exploitation and especially sexual activity – is not protected speech when used against drag performers who seek audiences of kids. The ruling was made as part of a defamation case against someone who allegedly called a drag performer and a LGBTQ organization “groomers”.

    1. That’s Ok, I call them what they really are, sexual perverts who molest children. Groomers is far too polite a term.

  5. “Al Capone’s arrest highlights new conservative weapon against thieves: criminal law.”

  6. So, we will see the never Putiners tell us they will quit BULLSCHIFFTING about the Uke/ Russo war in 3 2 1 ……. Didn’t think so, so Kate will keep letting them spread the lies.

    1. “Kate will keep letting them spread the lies”

Drop dead, loser. You’re the biggest pustule on this web site.

  7. Shorter Version: Just not fair that our political opponents should hold the Harvard president to high academic standards.

Dreadful article. While it’s true that those opposing DEI were vigorously denouncing Gay, many left-leaning academics were also calling for her resignation. At any rate, none of them made the decision for Gay to resign. That was stictly between her and the Harvard Corporation. They were perfectly capable of trying to weather the storm.

      1. No, I meant high as in high as a kite — the kind of academic standards you get after hot-knifing hash.

  8. The T-E link for this story is not working. But no matter, what the headline implies is that conservative activists are using anti-plagarism software to attack DIE, affirmative-action professors for possible plagarism. Like I suggested a couple of weeks ago, conservatives with some time on their hands might want to access the software and start testing DIE professors. Suggestions: start with the “equity” oversight departments, Indian studies, wimmin studies, and black studies programs. The Indian and black studies programs could bear the best results. Start with the “prestige” universities like the University of Toronto, Queen’s university and the University of British Columbia.

Kindly add the U of A to that – Notelys alumni I do believe.
      As for Gay…?
      Is she.?
Just from lookin at er…Seems to be a pre requisite these days.

  9. Urkel ain’t going anywhere. She’s “stepping down” but will still make nearly a million a year. And the beat goes on.

  10. A couple of anecdotes from my academic past about how accountability checks should work when vetting a promotion or a peer-reviewed academic work:

    1. For 25 straight years, I sat on our university’s Faculty of Art’s promotions committee. Each promotion has to go through a review by its department, faculty and university vice-president. Anyways this “women’s studies” professor was already tenured, and going up for promotion to full professor. During the past five years she had edited a book-of-readings published (a book of readings is where individual academics write different chapters and where the editor writes a simple introductory chapter). That’s all the publications she had in the past five years: no original articles or papers read at conferences.

Moreover the candidate only taught two semester courses in the past academic year, one course had one student and the other had five students. So in the past year she did no original research and taught six students. I voted “no” to her promotion and one other hard-ass professor did too. But we were out voted 9-2. So left-leanng academics vote to protect their own.

    2. In the late 1990s I and a young Chinese woman professor undertook research examining how the new Harmonized Sales Tax would hurt consumers in the three Atlantic provinces that signed up to cooperate with the Chretien government. I was the lead author who framed the study and wrote everything except the statistical appendix. My coauthor did all the statistical work and reported the results to me, and wrote up the entire statistical appendix.

We submitted our paper to Canadian Public Policy, a high-brow academic journal geared too policy wonks, with a low acceptance rate. When we got the three anonymous referee reports, all three were favorable. But one referee stated that the entire statistical appendix was lifted word-for-word from a graduate statistics textbook. In China it’s culturally acceptable to plagiarize at will. The coauthor then rewrote the appendix in her own words and we got the article published. By rights we could have both been strung up and hung in front of some oversight board.

But both anecdotes told be how how oversight and accountability should and should not work. The left protect and promote their own. But in doing so they do not properly hold their cronies to proper oversight. The referees for Claudine Gay should have caught her brazen plagarism.

    Sorry for the windy post.

    1. With repeating myself…
Traditional clashes as well in every system we have full of ass kissers, brown nosers and back stabbers…the Military was some experience when you blew up an (enemy) officer in the field only to have the whole system looking to get rid someone innovative and adapt to the situation given. 11. “Turd-eaters”
    Love it.
How do you spot an honest journalist?
They haven’t got somebody else’s shit stuck between their teeth.

The height of academia exposed for hypocrisy, paternalism, anti-Semitism & racism, plagiarism and probably a whole lotta sodomy.
    Color me unsurprised.

  12. AP, the propaganda arm of US socialists/fascists sez (sic):
“…. possible new weapon in conservative attacks on higher education.”

How they, those that went to school for a long time to learn how to bullshit those that did not, project their phantasies on the readers of AP propaganda.
And you got to take it, because they ‘know’ and you don’t.

  13. Plagiarism, or more accurately, the act of passing off someone else’s work as your own, is a form of fraud, and should be treated as such…

Of course that will never happen, as can be proven by the case of Chris Spence, and now Claudine Gay…

they both lost their high paying positions, but will never have to pay back the unearned rewards that they fraudulently acquired due to their plagiarism.

  14. Reject the truth if it’s conservative. Embrace the lie when it’s leftist. Add “racist” at all times.

  15. “Harvard president’s resignation highlights new conservative weapon against colleges: competency.”

    1. Her resignation is of little consequence to her, Harvard, Academia, or Society in general. She has simply stepped down from an official title but remains employed on the Harvard Faculty eking out her existence on a remuneration of $900,000.

  16. Likely ALL of those academics in the worthless fields of study are plagiarists. They are useless people with useless degrees. Time to tear the band aid off. FAST.

  17. That bilge that passes for journalism was simply bemoaning the politicization of honesty in a culture where the in-crowd celebrates its justifiable avoidance.

  18. Associated Shit Eaters Press:
Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist who helped orchestrate the effort against Gay, celebrated her departure as a win in his campaign against elite institutions of higher education. On X, formerly Twitter, he wrote “SCALPED,” as if Gay was a trophy of violence, invoking a gruesome practice taken up by white colonists who sought to eradicate Native Americans and also used by some tribes against their enemies.

Ha! The fact that this Gay slim-jim has a haircut that could be achieved with sheep shears is entirely unrecognized by the AP.

  19. Biden be all like… “Check me out”. The man’s never had an original thought in his life and has lifted more shit than Otis Elevator and now sits in the highest office of the land.

Liberals can cry the blues all they want but it wasn’t conservatives who brought her down it was heavy hitting donors like Ackman who kiboshed her. Ackman isn’t exactly what one would call a rock ribbed Republican but he is a Jew and he didn’t like it much that Gay was goring his Ox, so she had to go. You can throw past Harvard President Lawrence Summers in the mix as well. Just calling it like I see it.
Money: Every time all the time.

  20. Is plagiarism a “conversative weapon” when the claim is true? Or is it just the truth? Or both?
