  1. It is possible to maintain a currency. Just quit printing money or increasing the money supply beyond that required. Zimbabwe inflated its dollar to no value 3 times in a row finally giving up after 10 to the 25th power total inflation.

    1. Milei said in an interview with Carlson that the purpose of going the dollar is to prevent the politicians from printing money.

Not that it ever prevented Biden from printing the greenbacks.

  2. I’m confused. The IMF lent Argentina $44 billion and is being asked for another loan as Argentina moves to repay some of that debt. How can you borrow and pay back debt at the same time? Is there an interest differential (you replace debt having a 2% interest rate with new debt having a 5% interest rate)? Also, where does the IMF get the money to lend to Argentina? Have there been any countries that have bounced back and repaid their debt? Seems like the ones borrowing from the IMF are all in the toilet. And does the IMF have any revenue? Seems like a scam.

      1. Doesn’t it seem like it’s just out-the-door money? Who has ever paid back their loans?

  3. Mr Milei should skip the US$ and go directly to the BRICS currencies. The US$ is linked to the Fed which in turns creates US$ on the whim of the US president/congress/senate. The BRICS currencies are tied to gold and oil–much better arbiters of worth.

  4. He rejected BRICS – good, huge points for him.
Falkland’s are British, he better understands that, no negotiations. And if he tries anything send a Trident to Buenos Aires and be done with the problem once and for all.
Beyond that, there is no saving Argentina from being Argentina… it is turd world shithole that sooner or later always goes bankrupt.

  5. Peronism’s still in the Vatican, at least for now… Whatever replaces it with the next pope is anyone’s guess, but I can’t imagine I’ll be lucky enough now to end my days with a pope I can actually respect, let alone like.
