Emissions cap coming

So says the feds. Because of course it is. Thanks, Guilbeault and Wilkinson.

Oh, and the country with the largest oil reserves in the world is a failing state because of two decades of socialism. So what are they going to do? Invade their neighbour, to grab more oil. We don’t get a lot of nation-state wars and invasions in this hemisphere, but we might see one with days.

Guyana’s president says his country is preparing to defend itself from Venezuela over disputed area

And for something completely different,

Brian Zinchuk: This year will be the 38nd anniversary of me not getting the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier for Christmas

(Yes, I know the graphic says 32nd year. It was originally published 6 years ago, and as updated, as it still applies today. No aircraft carrier for me, or likely you, either. But you know you wanted one.)

  1. Meanwhile, the Dear Leader has acknowledged that that there is too much regulation of the energy sector so he has decided on major deregulation:

“Canada is dismantling regulatory hurdles for offshore wind projects along its Atlantic coast, aiming to transform one of the world’s longest and gustiest shorelines into a renewable energy leader despite the industry’s current slump.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government agreed Wednesday to hand over control of land tenure and regulation for projects within Newfoundland and Labrador’s inland bays to the provincial government. The move will create stability for investors and streamline permitting processes that can be plagued by “way too much duplication” between levels of government, Canadian Labor Minister Seamus O’Regan said.”

Sounds like Classic vote buying to me…
      & I was unaware that Shame(_i_) is/was our Labour Minister…?

Off shore Wind eh..?? More ugly monstrosities that will produce SFA for power, Cost Billions and kill Birds.

      1. Steakman: To make this “initiative” even more ridiculous, Newfoundland needs a huge amount of electricity to power a project to produce “green” hydrogen when the project’s wind turbines are not turning.

“Each firm hopes to use wind turbines to supply a green hydrogen and ammonia plant with clean power. But when the wind doesn’t blow, other sources of clean energy will be required to keep their facilities running. High-tech batteries are one possible solution, but hydroelectricity will inevitably play a major role.”

  4. Putin friend, fellow oil loser Venezuela wants to invade neighbor, take stuff. Huh. Imagine that.

  5. Time to shut down the oil and gas transmission lines to the rest of Canada. That will cap emissions.

    1. That’s what both Peter Lougheed proposed in 1980 and, oddly enough, so did Rachel Morley in 2018.

“In 1980, Lougheed fought Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau’s national energy program by passing a regulation to restrict the amount of oil and gas leaving Alberta by 15 per cent. The government also stopped issuing permits for natural gas exports.

Notley said her government will refine and update existing legislation that gives Alberta the ability to limit oil and gas exports.”

A Trudeau in power then and a Trudeau in power now. Isn’t it funny that whenever a Trudeau is the Prime Minister Alberta and Saskatchewan are attacked by Ottawa. It’s like they have a multi-generational vendetta against our provinces.

      1. the trudeaus have a vested interest dating from the days of the family ownership in gas stations. eastern oil imports make them more money than canadian oil .

  6. What’s the over-under on Venezuela taking military action? Three major conflicts on three separate continents under one administration.

  7. Starting in 2026, eh? What a co-inkydink! Hans Gruber cynically won’t apply the start of the program prior to the next election.
Surely, time enough to toss them out of office, and toss this terrible cap and trade scheme, and every other Liberal scheme into the waste in of history.

  8. Very appropriate that the ads in the GI Joe article expound on construction jobs and heavy equipment operators in conjunction with the oil byline. If the globalists have their way all construction will revert back to manual labour. All agriculture will revert back to manual labour with the help of horse and ox power. A win/win situation eliminate fossil fuels and reduce the global population to < 1.5 billion.

Getting back to the season at hand, being long of tooth and short of hair I predate the GI Joe generation but my biggest Christmas wish was to get a General Jumbo controller and the associated equipment. Many here will appreciate that dream, I'm sure. Perhaps I'll content myself with getting a remote control tank or excavator to play with in the sandbox in the dayroom, that is if Nurse Ratched allows it. Heh,heh, maybe I'll get the tank that shoots BB's and shoot her in the ……!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!
