The TVA Group says it is laying off 547 employees — nearly a third of its workforce — amid restructuring as the company contends with declining audiences and ad revenues.
The Montreal-based broadcaster says the shift involves overhauling its news division, ending its in-house entertainment content production and optimizing its real estate assets — including a reconsideration of the future use of its headquarters east of downtown.
I suspect anyone in Quebec who speaks English with at least minimal proficiency watches English language programs. The Quebec market is stupid small. If I remember French (from France) movies from the past their suckage factor was right up there with Italian and English ones.

I have satellite radio so I used to listen to US channels and the local CBC on my drive to work. When it comes to international news (or anything anti-Trump) they (CBC, Global, CTV) parrot the exact talking points from the US. Remember “emolument”? Or “not exonerated”. Or Russian collusion? The exact same talking points as CNN or CBS.
