I do, however, appear to understand warfare considerably better than you do, and realize that many of the wars fought going back centuries involved actions like taking objectives temporarily that actually serve another purpose, withdrawing in order to draw an enemy army into a crossfire or other trap, feinting in one area to distract from your movements in another direction, etc. Sun Tzu and other militarily experts had a name for that sort of thing: they called it STRATEGY.
Not all strategies are successful, or even obvious. Mistakes and blunders happen in every war (and on both sides) and this one is no exception. The bottom line though, as Paul and others continue to point out, is always the same: who is winning *right now*?
