    The geniuses who were absolutely sure that Israel, with all that high tech intelligence and its very powerful military, COULD SIMPLY NOT HAVE BEEN SURPRISED; that a country which values its citizens enough to do 20 for 1 prisoner exchanges could just let it happen for some important but unspecified political goal.

    And some genius bloggers as well. For example the “2nd Smartest Guy in the World” called it Psyop Israel.

Hamas deliberately hides among civilians (which IS a war crime, according to the Geneva Convention) and Israel, despite their well-publicized best efforts to warn residents away first, sometimes causes collateral damage when striking at Hamas (which is specifically NOT a war crime, according to the same Geneva Convention).

          And that’s if you actually believe that there are any ‘civilians’ or ‘civilian infrastructure’ In Gaza at all…you do know that Hamas has had a ‘sophisticated command bunker’ under Shifa Hospital for years now, right? (to name just one). You’ve also heard about them firing rockets into Israel from the parking lots of schools and day-care centers in Gaza, I assume? And beside hotels where foreign journalists are staying? And beside UN command posts? All of this has been common knowledge for years now.

          Leaving aside the puzzling question of why Gaza was getting their water, sewer and electricity from the hated Israelis and not from their generous Muslim brothers in Egypt, Israel was 100% justified (and correct) in turning off these utilities *until their hostages are freed*. Don’t like it? RELEASE them NOW.

  4. What no one seems to have observed yet, is that this attack was rehearsed extensively in Iran. Iran owns both Hamas and Hezbollah and uses them for their own political purposes.

    What has happened is that the assault on Israel has certainly drawn attention away from Putin’s assault on Ukraine. Given that Iran is in a firm military alliance with Russia, it would have been simple for Putin to ask Iran to conduct a diversion using their proxies in Gaza. This would serve to undermine US military support for Ukraine.

    1. Absolutely. There has been numerous reports from Lithuanian and Polish intelligence that Libyans, Lebanese and Syrians were being trained by Wagner in Belarus and Kallinigrad. Libyans, Lebanese and Syrians were all killed in the first hours of attack. There have been French intel reports that russian captured war trophies in Ukraine are being smuggled into Gaza. I don’t expect the Howler Brigade to connect those dots, nor do I expect my post to stay in a thread moderated by our unbiased modoerator, so read it fast before it disappears.

      1. It was a very easy way to create a distraction. The US and most western nations have the attention span of a gnat. It’s very difficult to get them to focus on a project that was going to last beyond the current term in office. What was truly stupid was the degree to which Israel was caught by surprise. They are supposed to know better.

            Yes, not predicting Hamas attack was a failure of intel comparable to 911 or russian expectations that Ukraine would fold and occupiers would be welcomed with open arms and flowers. Although, I think it is possible that warning signs were ignored and the fault lied with politicians in Israel.

            If this is like 911, it’s all three. We won’t really know until there’s something resembling an official inquiry. Israel went through this once before. It happened in 1974 after the fiasco of the opening days of the Yom Kippur war. Huge inquiry and a few generals were never allowed to hold field commands again.

            What I suspect will happen is something like what took place after the 1972 Olympics. Israel sent out assassins to gun down PLA terrorists world wide. It only stopped when they got one target in Norway badly misidentified. But the basic idea was just fine.

            As for the Pootin nonsense, I agree with you. Anyone imagining that Putin in any way resembles a good guy is certifiably insane.

You and I both know (as does everyone else with a working brain and the maturity level of a normal adult) how this conflict will end because we have studied the facts, considered *all* the available options and arrived at a logical conclusion…something that The Simpletons ™ have proven utterly unable to do.

  9. I support Israel’s right to exist, but as I dig deeper into the 9/11 Dancing Israelis story, I’m more convinced they have done some truly monstrous things in their history as a country. The Dancing Israelis story demonstrates pretty conclusively that for Israel, strategic geopolitical goals will trump a few thousand dead “friendlies” as collateral damage. In the case of this war, I believe, as does the ex-Israeli intelligence person interviewed by Brett Weinstein, a lot of things about the “success” of the Hamas invasion don’t add up. You can bet they’re in damage control because of that opinion being expressed by people who understand how the Israeli defenses should work (hence the Times of Israel story posted above, no doubt another intelligence agency plant like so many of them are).

    There is no noble side in this war. The low information people are being manipulated as they always are into the false dichotomy they drag out every single time: “if you’re not with Israel, you’re for terrorism”.

    And with the war pom pom shakers it works every single time.

    2. More information to backup my belief that Israel knew of this attack was brewing and made a cold deliberate strategic decision to let it proceed with no initial resistance.

  11. Re the 24 hour evacuation discussed at the beginning of the second link [BRICS prepare…]:

    The first response of the UN was that “It’s impossible” to evacuate 1 million +/- people in 24 hours.

    That’s bureaucrat thinking, not survivalist thinking.

    The way it’s done is for all those people to grab what they can and immediately start walking or hitch a ride South. All movement will be one-way; South, so that’s helpful. The Gaza strip is about 25 miles long. I would think that in 24 hours, the Northern-most people would be able to make it far enough South to be out of the way of the planned complete destruction of the Northern part.

    If you can stroll at 2 mph, you’ll be well out of the way in 10 hours. It will be a crowded mess, so if everyone can shuffle along at 1 mph then everyone should still be ok. Then the UN’s and any NGO’s job will be to get food and water for those people and a place to sit and rest for the next step.

    Complete evacuation in the North is entirely possible. That’s today’s problem with a straightforward solution. What to do with all of the people when they arrive in the South with little more than the clothes on their back and a few possessions is tomorrow’s problem that needs to be solved tomorrow.

    Due to time zone differences, I expect to be reading fairly soon about how the evacuation actually went.

    I am hoping the Palestinians in the North had the good sense to start walking as soon as they heard Israel’s warning.

    Sadly, I think many will die from the UN’s ‘help’.

  12. Well now, there is a lot of discussion about man’s inhumanity to man, yet no one seems to have observed the most vile and evil acts that have occurred during the past three years, no blood in the streets so it does not matter that millions have been killed.
