  1. We don’t need to build any new mental health asylums. We can just convert Universities to the task. Universities even come prestocked with their own crazy people.

    1. Was that AI created propaganda piece directly from the Russian government or was it from one of their numerous propaganda sites?

I’ve never read so much bullshit in one article.

Read up on the Ukraine/Germany/USSR situation from the ’30’s andf40’s, it’s complicated. Hunka probably was a brave soldier who wanted to fight the hated Russians who had brutalized Ukraine for years. His only way to fight back was to enlist in a German commanded SS group. Half the countries in Eastern Europe did the same,it was a case of fighting the worse devil.

I doubt Hunka was a Nazi, and neither were the thousands of Latvians, Estonians, Finlanders, Lithuanians, Poles,Czechs, and Slavs who fought against the Russians. They were patriots. It’s so easy for us to sit back in our smug countries and denounce anyone who didn’t do exactly as we did.

It’s a shame Rota is taking the fall for Trudeau.

        1. Rota wasn’t the divisional commander. He was an teenager who had watched the communists kill 10,000,000 of his countrymen over the preceding 25 years. The opportunity to fight back came and he took it. If he didn’t take it he would have been drafted into the Red Army, which was a major part of the apparatus that killed more Russians than the Germans did.

        2. The official position of the Canadian government has for some years been that membership in the division was not a war crime. There’s no doubt that the division committed war crimes. There’s hardly an army in the world that has engaged in war and not committed war crimes doing it. It tends to come with the territory. Nonetheless, not every veteran is a war criminal.

      1. “wanted to fight against russians” doesn’t square with “murdering polish civilians and burning their villages to the ground, to cleanse ukraine of other people”

        1. Oh FFS, it wasn’t SS that did that is was UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army). Learn a minimum before flapping your gums.

  2. Canadian Parliament applauded a Waffen SS trooper, and the Forever War people are fine with that, because reasons.
“He fought Russians, so he was a good guy!’
    Disgusting.
If the man wasn’t a real NAZI, he coulda joined the Wehrmacht instead of the SS.
What a sickened bunch of freaks so many Canadians have become.

  3. Very much back in the day, my dance teacher was German. She’d fled East Germany atop the subway train, if memory holds. Anyway, her husband had been a fighter pilot in the Luftwaffe during WW II. Don’t think he was invited to join the Legion, but it was not held against him.
