They just can’t quit slave labour.
Longtime migrant workers are disgruntled with new waves of arrivals to New York City who they say are undercutting them — claiming anyone hiring them should “get the f—k out of here”.
City data shows over 116,000 migrants have flocked to the Big Apple since last spring and most are making ends meet working in the illegal underground economy — many while still living rent-free at taxpayer-funded hotels and shelters, as the New York Post exclusively revealed.
This poses a problem for more established migrants who have been working cash-in-hand for years.
They say newcomers accept next-to-nothing for work such as painting and concreting, driving down their own earning potential.
A tradesman known as “Parrow” who described himself as an “old timer” said he has been going to the Home Depot on Merrick Boulevard in Queens to pick up construction, plumbing and home improvement work for “20 plus years” but is now struggling.

“They say newcomers accept next-to-nothing for work such as painting and concreting, driving down their own earning potential.”
So the “Old Stock” first migrants created their own problems, with the second wave doing what they did the first time around. Only so many white people to fight over… Migrant Wars!!
They didn’t create any problems whatsoever. There is no problem here. Labor plenitude is only good. The only problems here are 1) prohibitions on migrants working and 2) restrictions on building homes.
Hi UnMe. I have a question for you to answer honestly, if you can.
The minimum wage in NY is $15 per hour. I am going to play the odds and suggest that these illegal immigrants are not getting paid $15 per hour for their efforts. So:
1. Do you support NY’s $15 per hour minimum wage?
2. If these illegal immigrants are getting paid less than $15 per hour, do you think they should?
3. As you put it…”Labor plenitude is only good.” And yet, the influx of illegal immigrants lowers the price charged for the work done as there is significant competition to acquire the job. So, it’s the opposite. It isn’t “labor plenitude”. It is employee plenitude. And I can guarantee you that such a competition lowers the wages being paid to these illegals under the State mandated minimum wage since there is no record of the payments.
My point is that the same individuals harking to raise the minimum wage are in support of illegal activities that negate its application.
Perhaps it’s only in EXPENSIVE California … but none of the hundreds of day laborers at my local HD will work for less than $25/hr. Guess we need some new Venezuelans in the parking lot
Hi Kenji. Do you think any of those day laborers are paying towards FICA? Do their employers have to pay for their medical insurance? Are they paying Federal, state and local taxes?
Nope.
Rules for me, but not for thee. And, keep in mind that these illegals get free hotel rooms, medical care, public education etc… (in NY anyway) Additionally, they send a significant portion of those wages back to their point of origination (and not the US economy). For example, Mexicans alone send over $58 Billion back to Mexico every year.
Well … I know we conservatives are outraged at new IRS cash tracking rules. But TBF … if the IRS can track all the under-the-table transactions … the Federal coffers would increase by 20% at least.
Illegals are keeping SS afloat. They pay in with no hope of ever getting money out.

Also, 25 dollars per hour is pretty expensive. Lower is better.
1. No 2. Yes 3. Whatever. Plenitude is plenitude is good. Bonus points for undermining min wage.
Maybe this is the US plan?.. Establish their own Slave Class to compete with China,Vietnam, etc.
The whole point of immigration is to drive down the cost of labour for millionaires. It’s truly strange how the lefties and the capitalists are in a 21st century fascist relationship. The middle class is rapidly shrinking.
” The middle class is rapidly shrinking.”
Only because so many are joining the upper class. Also, the labor gets cheaper for everyone. It’s wins all the way down except for the entitled and racist.
(Irish immigrants) “do a job for a nickel what a n*gger does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for.”
-bill the butcher
1) No, no I don’t think I will. I have better things to do with my time.
2) There is no ‘slave labor’ featured in this story or pertaining to it at all. Please learn what words mean before using them.
3) Undercutting each other on the labor market is the very essence of America.
UnMe – Communism and libertarianism: everyone here knows the former has never been proven to work anywhere. Where, and don’t say Switzerland because they have conscription, has the latter been proven to work?
Dubai is literally 90% expat. While not libertarian its immigration policy is pretty close. Further, the US had almost perfectly open immigration in the 19th century and it worked very well. Built the country to be a super-power.
That’s my local HD. What’s funny is that the guys hiring are mostly Spanish immigrants with some Sikhs thrown in. The blacks hire each other because the other two won’t. If you go to the hotels where they are being kept, you will see lots of e-bikes outside.
Let’s ramp up immigration to 5 million a year, and after a couple of years, let’s boost it to 10 mil. Because immigration is good.
But, but, but … there are FAR MORE than 10m “refugees” and “asylum seekers” … who are desperate to get into the USA each year. Ohhhhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaaaaa … I feeeeeeel so guilty that I live comfortably … so let ‘em all in. We need more “Dreamers” … so long as they’re not white. /sarc
No, I think we need a giant steamroller.
Yes. That is an excellent start.
This isn’t immigration!
This is the State breaking its own immigration laws, importing people and putting them on the taxpayer’s dime, essentially subsidizing the underground economy. I’m all for Minarchy or Anarcho Capitalism (variants of libertarianism) but you either have a controlled border with a (now fascist) welfare state or you don’t and (further) bankrupt the already bankrupt welfare state. You can’t have it both ways…. for very long.
Shoulda picked their own cotton
As the late Kathy Shaidle once said… I have stolen that quote a few times.
Douglas Macgregor:
The United States has an estimated 28 million people who are illegally here.
Over 90% of them enjoy free healthcare at the expense of the American taxpayer.
We’ve got 27 million American’s who have no health insurance.
This is ridiculous.
Bus the migrants to Washington. The white house has a nice empty lawn for tents. Joe will love his new neighbours.
