        Lots of possibilities when you live in a world full of enemies and few friends. The reality is that regardless of any “investigation” the truth will never be known, only the narratives.

        Could have been Putin or the West each will point the finger at the other. Apparently there were at least 10 on the plane so my guess would be the West only because Putin could have had Prigozhin killed even discreetly at any time. Unless he wanted all dead but that seems counter intuitive to his needs in Africa or Belarus.

    2. Those with the means will go to the nearest district that does not have the added tax and stock up there. That, or if it is onerous enough a black market of untaxed goods will thrive.

      People will do a lot of things to avoid taxes, particularly if they seem unfair or the revenue is wasted. It is usually counterproductive to raise taxes and expect revenues to rise. At a point, revenues begin to fall when people find workarounds or just up and leave. The natural reaction of the typical government apparatchik du jour is to raise taxes even more to cover the lost revenue.

      (Don’t sue me if you sprained an eyeball while rolling your eyes over the above. Y’all get free healthcare up there so getting that eye fixed costs you everything nothing.)
