  2. Well, everyone I know who had quit smoking died from cancer. I’ll wait till the ones who are still smoking die to make my mind up on it.
    In the mean time I’ll continue to avoid doctors altogether as it seems to be a healthy alternative.

    1. Parents were centenarians. Farmers who liked to smoke. Died from something else altogether. Doctors are just more University graduates with little education and lots of programming. Take everything they say with a grain of salt and don’t take the drugs unless it’s a last resort.

  4. Late 50’s and my PSA cancer screening number edged a little over the high range, and stayed there six months later when rechecked to monitor. Urologist tells me he’d really like to see an MRI, but OHIP doesn’t cover it in this scenario, I’m on my own to decide to pay here or go to the USA for it, all in probably $1,500. He literally asked me – “What would you like to do?”

    So much for this guy’s recommendation for “very very aggressive screening” by our healthcare system.

      Best of luck with this, just had my brother go through this.

    4. They told my dad he had prostate Cancer when he was 79. His doctor, much wiser than most, told him not to worry something else will probably kill him before the prostate does. 101 was expiration. As long as you can still pee, you’re good.

  5. Thanks … you just reminded me I’m overdue for my next colonoscopy … I don’t relish things getting stuck up there as much as the alphabet freaks.

    BTW … this fine Doctor (?) conveniently left out “high risk behaviors” which tend to compromise ones immune systems. Hmmmm? I wonder why that is? He makes such a CRITICAL argument for cancers growing unchecked when our immune systems are compromised … but says nothing about AIDS and other assorted virulent diseases spread by splooging bodily fluids where they don’t belong. Nevermind … James O’Keefe got canceled for humiliating a Gay Pfizer “Doctor” (he humiliated himself) … so I can see this Doctor needed to tread lightly. Oh! Don’t worry … we have an AIDS “cocktail” now … doesn’t that sound nice and soothing ? An AIDS “cocktail”? It’s a PARTY trying to salvage your damaged immune system! So go on … keep visiting the Bath Houses for bareback brokeback whatever you do. The cocktail will keep you alive for almost another 10 years …

    1. There are many side effects to colonoscopy. Damage to spleen, bleeding, bloating, cramping, polypectomy damage, cauterization damage, and many more. It hardly seems worth it on a greater scale. Keep moving a lot, eat properly and in moderation, exercise, avoid sitting whenever possible, and get your rest.

    2. Kenji – The link between promiscuity and cervical cancer was made many years ago, HPV causes 100% of it. The wife of a work colleague in the 1980s died of cervical cancer. He couldn’t believe it when his second wife also got it. One guy on CBC Ideas suggested all disease is linked to sexually transmitted diseases.
      The Peterson video above sort of leaves you hanging so I found the full interview with Peter Attia which starts out by saying that the standard American diet is what is killing people.
