      Why? “Water equity” … read the article. This despicable douche’bag Kaleo Manuel, says that water supply must be treated with “equity”. Ironically… in this IDIOT’s quest for equity … he burned down one of the last neighborhoods of native islanders. I guess THEIR equity demanded incineration … because some other poor douche of a weed farmer needed more water for his crop.

      1. As one poster elsewhere said. It is an island surround by the Pacific Ocean, no shortage of water to fight fires if there is an infrastructure to pump the water.

    2. A Hawaiian Studies major, Kaleo prefers a traditional, holistic “One Water” approach, where water is revered, not used. Sounds like Canada’s federal policy for oil and gas.

  3. The Chief of police in Lahaina just happened to have been the Incident commander during the Las Vegas shootings. Small world, eh? It’s sort of like when we see crisis actors that somehow find themselves being victims of terrorist attacks, in two different cities.

    1. Even better, look at all the ‘officials’ bloviating on every news outlet that would have them, saying Russian interference when Trump won in 2016 and look at their roles when 9/11 happened. Comey, Mueller, Clapper and all the rest.
      The whole mess in Hawaii stinks. None of the towns burned are anyway near engulfed in vegetation whether grass, brush or trees. I’ve seen no footage of any firefighters efforts at all, anywhere at any time. Lot’s of military there, no helicopters, fireboats deployed to fight the fire.

    Anywho…I’ve been kind of following this since it started…a lot of talk and suspicion about how the wealthy side of the island was miraculously spared (Hi Oprah) …not to mention how real estate carpet baggers are rushing in to buy up affected homeowner’s land on the cheap. Gosh what a swell bunch they are… move over used car salesmen.
    And of course there’s the meme going around how the island leaders signed on to be the first “smart island” and suggesting this is their attempt for a “reset”.
    Rebel News is on the way…but I’ll doubt they’ll be given access.

    1. Always go with your instincts. A friend of mine has a friend who worked in the south tower of the world trade center on 911. He wanted to get the hell out of the building when he saw north tower in flames, but was told by his manager to stay on his floor. He ignored his manager and was able the escape the south tower before it was hit.

  7. In July, the rules to local laws were just changed stating only a natural disaster can rezone the properties burned from residential to commercial.

      Just wait until the wind is right, and the brush is dry enough, and a rezoning can happen…..

  10. And so far, according to CBS, at least 1300 people are unaccounted for, many of them children. The govt officials responsible for this fuster cluck shouldn’t see the outside of a prison cell for the rest of their lives.

  11. The arrogant shit may have some protection from criminal justice but I’m suggesting he’s NOT safe from civil suits from owners who lost family and property to the fire. Hopefully a class action suit against him and his organization happens before he catches a plane to Brazil…

  13. I have seen one person (so far) that posted on TicTok that they pretty much had their fire under control until the authorities turned off the water supply.

  14. To be fair here there’s not exactly a lot of firefighting experience in Maui when it comes to wildfires. Add in typical DNC incompetence and this is the result. They’ll now beef up their wildfire fighting game and never use it again.

      Hardly a wildfire … more like a residential and commercial neighborhood firestorm. Knowing the lay of the land VERY WELL having traveled to Kaanapali nearly every year for the last 10 years … I find it hard to believe that non-native dry grasses ignited this firestorm, and/or that the firefighters could not have successfully suppressed it. The Oakland Hills firestorm had massive stands of eucalyptus trees to spread the fire … There is tree cover in PARTS of Lahaina … but nothing like the stands of eucalyptus trees. Something still isn’t adding up for me … in ANY of the explanations thus far …

  17. I am sure the thought of “Water Equity” would be of tremendous comfort to the haole supremacist watching his wife and children burn to death in agony while trying to escape the flames or “sheltering in place” as directed.
