What changed?
Hunger for money and profits while politicians changed to be our parents.
One of the reasons deep down in my heart and soul, I identify as an American.
The country did take a turn for the worse, but at least there, there’s push back against the agenda. You still have state governors preserving the notion of freedom, unlike here in Kanuckistan, pretty much every government, and every political party has been corrupted in one fashion or another, and the people here are sheep, and don’t seem to know what’s coming, or do know, but not only do they not care, but they’re actually looking forward to the change!
If I was able, I’d move to one of the U.S. Red states, but at least for now, I’ll settle for the prairies where my impression is that the people are not nearly as insane as the folks around here are in Ottawa.
I feel exactly the same. Canadians are very easily manipulated and the Liberal government and the media take advantage of this. I too woukd like to move to a saner part of the country — Alberta or Sask.
Main reason for this is that a much higher % of the population in kanuckistan rely on gubmint tit suckling for a living. The only viable industry is oil and gas and this is how most get their ‘fair share’ of this wealth. This has produced a vast population of weaklings as there is little push back on the gubmint agenda.
When we retired, we left BC for small-town SK, where housing is much more affordable and the streets are quiet and the people still have some common sense. The big cities of SK? Not so much. I think universities warp their thinking.

I often wonder if something is actually brewing or if Americans have become as complacent as Canadians.
I never DID like this as I had already seen that Africa was “less than special”. Since I was 10 (1962) and the great decolonization of Africa had begun, any thinking person (which I was at age 10) just knew that the future was not going to go well for Africa. People like to blame the European nations for ignoring tribal boundaries as the primary cause for the dysfunctional continent which Africa is today. Even when the inhabitants of the various nations of Africa emigrate to Canada or “more white” countries, they still carry their grievances and hence the riots at the Eriteran (sp?) festival in Toronto this past weekend.
Sadly, the more I read about black people and their behaviours, the more I want to stay away from them.
