1. Re electric cars. In your cost calculations don’t forget to account for electricity taxes and EV taxes.

   Governments will need to replace the tax revenue currently received from gasoline sales.

2. Time to pass a law saying all politicians have to take public transit only.

3. Right wing populism. Becoming a lover of freedom is where everyone should be. Those of us on the “right” are right.

   2. I am always astonished how, in democracies, populism is considered an evil. Our rulers are not popular, as they are ruling for a “higher power” AKA The Globalists. Richi Sunak and our Dear Leader are cases in point.

      1. It’s considered evil only by the scum who run legacy media. They are desperately trying to insist that populism somehow equals national socialism. If the trend noted by the Daily Mail is true, they are simply reaping the reward of sneering at the average voter for the past two decades. In Canada’s case, they are doing whatever they can to keep the Liberals in power and federal cash rolling in.

   Mayor of Calgary….someone NOBODY had ever heard of becomes Mayor..eh?

   Given, the majority of VOTERS were property tax paying middle aged and older, I simply dont buy it.

   Jeremy Farkas shoulda won by a landslide.

      2. She got 45% of the vote. Farkas got 29.9%. The other 25% was split amongst 25 other candidates.

         Total vote was approximately 390,000
         Calgary population was approx 1.3 million.

         Population 18 and above was approx 950,000.

         I have no idea how many people were surveyed for Gondek’s approval rating. But 55% of the people who actually voted, didn’t vote for her.

         1. Perhaps Chicago has the answer whereby the top 2 after the election have run-off election a week or so later.
            Mind you Chicago F___ed that up too!

   2. I left Calgary 10 years ago and was happy to do so. I was there for 2 terms of Mayor Nenshi and saw the “writing on the wall” that the city was going down the crap hole. When I read the news from Calgary, I know that I was right to leave.

      1. I lived there for thirteen years. A once-beautiful city now ruined by third-world immigrants and Eastern Canadian migrants. It’s no longer distinguishable from any other socialist-run urban centre.

5. I suspect that too many Calgary voters are low-information, not-integrated non-English/French folks who know nothing, but are told by others who they should vote for.

      They, the media are all the same! Just watching, reading and listening tells you all where their allegiances are.
      CBC got caught and would NOT take responsibility. And the accusations were parroted far and wide. They are all crooks!

6. Disinformation?.. Where social studies meets political platforms.. Governments have always played loose with the truth but never so close to our rights and freedoms.. Business models formed from matters of opinion.. The Minister of “Gonna make it Happen”.. And all the other questionable policy points left flapping in the wind..

   Slowly, the right tool to get the job done moves away from the original premise and onto the people pointing out the problems with the new business plan or policy.. Dodgy problems begat dodgy solutions.. Deeply invested political parties.. The answer is transparency, not censorship..

   How do you win elections, redo the world and run clean?.. Take your pick because all 3 together are incompatible..

   The problem is not so much government.. A necessary evil.. Its the new unmeasurable things they seek to govern.. The Minister of “Get it Done” might as well be called the Minister of Slavery.. A government program that’s no different than a computer program.. A fancy name for a computer model..

   The WOKE are sleepwalking.. Interesting stuff if your writing a song but a nightmare for a society..

7. Climate change isn’t real? The hysteria is force fed by the media and scientists who get funded to say crap? You. Don’t. Say. Thinking people see an ice age start and, well, finish without humans doing anything right or wrong. Last mini ice age for those interested. How did that mini event happen? Unthinking people just yell “how dare you!” But, I’m white. It’s my fault. Who cares if everything, and I mean everything Greta and Gore predicted has been false. Plus the Maldives have been under water since 1990 (no) and we ran out of gas in 1975 (no). No more pollinators (no), polar bears dying !!! (No) #tired. It’s a longer list. Too tired to list it all.
