The last slaves in the west were / are the conscripts sent to Viet Nam. Nixon, after being convinced by Milton Friedman, finally ended the last remnants of slavery in America. Murray is bang on.

Recently got into this discussion, the indigenous flavour.
I like what one person said, who are they identified as?
One tribe warred and chased another tribe out, and so on…one tribe murdered and raped another tribe. .So then WHO gets the recognition, or the lane or the virtual signalling apology?
Plus these folks apparently were here 10,000 years before whitey showed up, so in those 10K years did they invent the wheel? Invent script writings as in conversational type not cave wall drawing.

When told I have to ‘celebrate’ indigenous culture, I always ask why should I? There is nothing about it I find interesting or celebratory.
My response to said lefty telling me I should worship indigenous culture: Before the Europeans came, these people lived tribally warring with one another and trading their slaves. In the 1800’s, while most of the rest of the world had developed architecture, medicine, art, music, literature, textiles, astronomy, manufacturing, locomotive travel (etc etc), the North American natives had few structures, no medicine or surgery, ugly art. Their only instrument was a drum while meanwhile the earliest bagpipe, a wind instrument, was developed about 400 BC, While orchestras were playing strings and woodwinds in Europe and Asia, and composers such as Bach and Beethoven were composing, the NA indigenous were pounding drums and grunting. They had no written language let alone be creating literary masterpieces. They dressed in animal furs while the Chinese had been outfitted in silk fashion for centuries. Never mind having a locomotive engine, they didn’t even have the wheel. Ancient cultures in South America, Asia and the Middle East had architecture built centuries ago that still stand. So I ask again, what is it I should be ‘celebrating’ about their backwards culture.
When I am done with my little diatribe, the person I am speaking to usually calls me a ray cist.
