Breaking…

Tucker Carlson out at Fox News.

Rumors have swirled that he was looking to leave since they stopped him airing more January 6 video after just a couple of nights, but I don’t know if that’s why he’s leaving or not.

The stock’s falling, leading an acquaintance to comment “$800m settlement for the vote fraud stuff with Dominion, and FOX just zapped $1bil from its market cap in the last 10 min.”

Robert Barnes: End of @TuckerCarlson at @FoxNews may be the beginning of the end for the network itself, which is why stock dropped worse than Dominion settlement, and cost Fox more than Dominion settlement. Fox already known as the geriatric network, and Tucker was ONLY means of young viewers.

Bottom story of the day: Don Lemon also out at CNN

  1. No room for truth tellers in MSM. One wonders what would have happened if Watters, Hannity, Ingram and Gutfield had stood with Carlson and presented a unified front.

    1. The reason that Carlson is out is because he was careless with the truth. That’s why Fox News lost the lawsuit.

          1. I’m thinking that $787 million was or will be covered by the GEBs (Globalist Evil Bastards) after the dust settles. FOX took a dive on the case. Those that told FOX to take a dive made sure FOX was taken care of as part of the deal. Perhaps forcing TC out was part of the deal, too.

            My 2¢

          2. Losing because of facts, and losing because of one’s own craven cowardice and lack of integrity are not the same thing.

          3. No. Whether right or wrong, corporations will choose not to fight a risky court battle. Fox was not going to take the chance that the jury would award twice as much. That’s how corporations’ legal departments operate, didn’t you know? Obviously not.

          4. Thomas:

If Fox News had solid evidence that Dominion Voting had conducted electoral fraud, it would never have parted with the better part of a billion dollars.

Fox News got careless. Live with it.

          5. To get better briefed check out Allan Dershowitz’s take on the settlement. Quick summary: ridiculous, he would not have settled, the judge’s behaviour was illegal, Dominion suffered no damage.

      1. I wonder if they lost the lawsuit because the evidence wasn’t available, eg. machines scrubbed soon after the election? There’s certainly been enough testimony from alleged ex-Dominion employees about shenanigans going on.

If being careless with the truth was a reason for firing, how many of the MSM headliners would be employed?

        1. I pass what was the Dominion Voting Machines head office during the election cheat.
Once they got called out they closed the office ripped out the interior (it’s an old textile factory with giant barn-beam style exposed wood beams that were removed) dug up the wires out front of the building and concreted over everything.
It looks like they covered up everything.

        2. Dominion voting machines definitely were a problem. Among other things, the could be connected to the Internet. I am not sure why Fox settled as many problems would have come out at a trial. It may have been a set up to make Dominion look good.

        3. Post the 2020 election I followed closely the reports on Antrim County MI log scrubbing of Dominion servers, the “updating” of Dominion scanners in Fulton County GA despite a court order not to, and the deletion of files from the Maricopa County AZ Dominion servers, and subsequent coverup. Dominion is a both crooked and incompetent company. That said most of the cheating in the recent US elections has been not via manipulation of real time voting tally data, but at the front end, by fabricating mail in ballots.

        4. Fox had zero chance to win in that jurisdiction with that prosecutor and that jury pool. They could have brought in the fabled “smoking gun” with fingerprints and it wouldn’t have mattered.

          1. NO. He’s an opinion journalist. He practiced free speech.

Dershowitch — a liberal Dem all his life — said it was a sad day for the 2nd amendment.

          2. “NO. He’s an opinion journalist. He practiced free speech.”

Free speech has never meant the freedom to defame. Being an opinion journalist rather than reporter does not mean you don’t have to check facts. People depend on Carlson and other Fox News hosts to get it right. In this case at least, FN got careless.

      2. Election fraud is real and Dominion is crooked. The settlement is a shakedown.

        1. Fox and Dominion are on the same globalist team with shared goals. This was to finance Dominion for other lawsuits and to “validate” the claim that Dominion machines are above question or reproach and as such the 2020 election was the most “safe and secure” EVER!

Id say this decision to finance Dominion was made long ago – they just needed to figure out how much they were going to need.

By no metric or legal precedent is 787 million remotely plausible.

And Tucker actually dismissed the fraud when he denounced Sidney Powell.

        2. The aim was to make criticism of Dominion voting machines impossible. Mission accomplished and the next election is already decided. There will never be another conservative government in North America.

          1. False. There are legitimate concerns, but no justification for the defamation Dominion received. See their complaint.

Media can get away with a lot, even defamation. The plaintiff has to prove “actual malice”. That’s a hard hill to climb.

            Fox made it easy.

      3. Killer
When you don’t know what you are talking about, going alla unDORK is not a good option!

          1. I’m astonished at the massive wall of rationalization going on here.

Fox News got careless. Be an adult and accept it.

  2. Probably a ripple effect from the recent settlement with Dominion.
Anyway, I learned to take Fox News with a grain of salt ever since they reported on the 2020 election.

      1. No, more like when they concealed the -massive- cheating on the election. Massive and sloppy.

Who do you work for, anyway? Dems? Libs? Lucy? Just wondering. Nobody could be this obtuse by accident, or even for free.

      2. “You mean called Arizona correctly?”

No, when they called Arizona prematurely. Blind luck doesn’t make them heroes.

    1. I take them all with a grain of salt. More like separating the wheat from the chaff. Cable entertainment news, all of it slanted and spun.
But, without Fox we’d never heard of the disgusting power abuses of the Russia hoax, Cocaine Hunter laptop and big tech censorship.
Two sides of a mutually exclusive argument both can’t be completely right and completely wrong at the same time. That’s the tell.
But consumers have switched sides (literally) with the 5th column 4th estate; we must confirm their stories; a fake news role reversal.
If it’s the case this is fallout from the Dominion settlement, that’s how the cookie crumbles, and is a check on irresponsible journalism.

  3. My cable provider just implemented a new rule where you can only change your tv package every 30 days and I just made a change the other day. Now I have to wait a whole month to cancel Fox.

    1. Time to cut that cord James. Just snip it and put that money back in your pocket.

  4. Tucker was pretty “matter of fact” last week,,, making some very pointed statements, without any room for disclaimer or wiggle room.(maybe he new he was gone at that point)

    1. There is always a spot for him at rt.com .
The Ruskies would looove to get that gimme .
Alternatively he could also do what Joe Rogan has done.

    1. All cable news are destroying themselves…..at least Fox has SOME veracity. But cable news better wise up because the best and the brightest are moving to platforms like Substack where they are free to report the facts…..guys like Glen Greenwald and many others.

      1. Yes, Glen Beck, Meghan Kelly and others are having a bit of a revival on the web, where they can be hteir own boss.

  5. To me, all cable news is unwatchable. Generally, corporations don’t tolerate shit disturbers whether truthful or not. Like Mark Steyn and Glen Beck, Carlson was too controversial for the corporate spin doctors, lawyers, bean-counters, and other carpetbaggers of the executive suites and boardrooms. He will do well on his own if he wants to continue.

  6. PVR Tucker every night. Little reason to continue the subscription so I will drop Fox News.

  7. Doesn’t all this make it seem like somebody has a big fat gun pointed at the corporation’s head? Like “Settle and shut this guy up or you do the perp walk.”

Interesting times, ladies and gentlemen. That fact that we are even thinking the above might be a possibility demonstrates how far we have all come since 2016.

  8. It appears as though the ruling class made a deal, you fire one of yours and we fire one of ours. An uneven deal if there ever was one.
One that got nothing of consequence to say.
One that largely spoke the truth to power and said it, can’t have that.
Make no mistake, Carlson was pushed out.
    Period.
Thinking, he is going to be fine, made some good money in the years at FOX, now he is a free agent. He will probably go independent with podcast and rake in all the money for himself. Good for him.
There are still disturbers on FOX, so not all is lost.
Carlson was heavy hitter, can’t have that.

  9. I would like to suggest a poll..

Where do Tucker Carlson and Dan Bongino end up?

    1. OAN
    2. NewsMax
    3. The Blaze
    4. The Daily Wire
    5. Sirius Radio
    6. A completely new Internet show
    7. Other (offer your suggestion)

    1. Jail.

Just sayin’ that seems likely, given the toboggan ride to tyranny we seem to be on.

    2. I hope to see them both on NewsMax.
On a positive note CNN has fired Don Lemon. Perhaps Trudeau will offer him a position at CBC or CTV.

    3. Real Americas Voice for Tucker and Bongino
Rumble.is also a possibility for Bongino
It’s reported Bongino owns a “significant” part of Rumble as an early investor.

    4. 7. rt.com Russian tv , thats where Larry King and a few others ended up when they butted heads with C Suite.

  10. Fox News less Tucker is Light News.
So Fox Light goeth the way of Bud Light.
    C’est la vie.

  11. Time to cancel Fox News, Tucker was the only reason I watched that crap network

    1. I cancelled Faux right after the 2020 fraud. Run by CINO Paul Ryan and owned by Murdoch’s son, an avowed leftist, it made no sense to keep it on the dial.
I catch Tucker and Gutfeld on YT, but, this could be the start of the purge, the left may yet get Hannity’s head on a pike too, though, he does take orders from his Globalist masters, he may survive the purge.
Faux, just another mediot self-destructive business model.

  12. He’ll start up his own network, then steal Gufffeld from Fox. I think the end result is going to be a streaming network that dwarfs all the network and cable entities.

It’s going to be hilariously fun watching all the grifting fake conservatives stomp over each other trying to get the slot. …and then failing miserably in the ratings.

    Popcorn.

  13. If it makes anyone feel better, bills C-11, 18 and 36 will make watching Fox and other channels and for any reason impossible.

  14. “Bottom story of the day” is right. Just watched the news clip from BNN-Bloomberg news, and it’s all about Carlson and nothing about Lemon.

  15. you go up the maternal branch of the MurDICK family tree, you git to Greene, and that says it all.

  16. The lawyer advised against settlement, many law professors advised against settlement, had the trial proceeded there would have been ample evidence to bring before the court as is illustrated here”
    https://twitter.com/KanekoaTheGreat/status/1648462770936115202
Bottom line is that this settlement is a scam. Full Stop.
True the Vote had their lawsuit withdrawn, I wonder why?
Then we have the 50 ‘intelligence’ agents getting outed and couple that with what the Treasury SARs revealed to the Congressional Committee and the IRS agent claiming whistleblower status, what we have is the makings of a full blown meltdown of the American political system, particularly the Democrats. Problem is nobody within the Republican party has the will or fight to go for the jugular, so this will limp along for the next 18 months and the 2024 election will again go to the Democrats.

    1. …Antenor
The entire scene in both USA and Canada is like watching a horror movie where you know the plot and the ending.

In Canada we have Trudeau/Singh both WEF graduates driving Canada into the ground with all the media (all of them) onside or afraid to state the truth and most Canadians seemingly oblivious.

In the US , the 2020 election was stolen as were the 2022 mid-terms , and all the media is onside with the Democrats , other than a few voices who are heavily censored or fired (Carlson).

In both countries the corrupt left have complete control of government , justice system and media and we are watching this play out where we know the likely ending without some form of intervention.

    2. Read the damn complaint. Finding a bug or two isn’t a defence for everything Fox News did.

      This is a complete grift.

    3. “so this will limp along for the next 18 months and the 2024 election will again go to the Democrats.”

Yup. They had a chance to at least expose the steal (if not prosecute anyone for it), and chose not to because of their hatred and fear of Donald Trump. The Republicans will never win another election in our lifetime…why they keep denying this is baffling.

  17. This is not good news for any of us. I have watched Fox since the Glen Beck days, around 2005/6. I switched to Fox when Beck was ousted at CNN. I stayed on after Beck parted with Fox, because I liked watching O’ Rielly, then they came for him, and he left. Now Bongino has gone, and now Carlson. I don’t know where Tucker will end up, but he’s hot property right now, so he’ll be fine. We however, have lost another great voice for our side. All of them are slowly being silenced. We lost Brietbart, ( I think he was murdered) they cancelled Beck and O’Rielly, We lost Rush Limbaugh, then they cancelled Steyn, now Bongino, and now Tucker Carlson. Even Trump is on this list, the left are going full charge eliminating any relevant conservative voices, and they are winning. Soon it will include Levin, Hannity, and Ingraham. They might even go after Gutfield.
I’ll be cancelling my Fox subscription….Truly Sad!

  18. The important question is, who at FOX is in possession of the J6 tapes? Because my feeling is, we’ll never hear about it again unless there is pressure for McCarthy to put them out to everyone which is what he should have done from the start.

  19. I wonder if Fox just had their Bud Light moment. I immediately contacted Fox News and told them, “No Tucker? No me.”

  20. Shumer said “stop him” so Murdock has.
This is all about January 6th.

    Tv service cancelled.

  21. When Don Cherry was fired I was of the opinion he should have started a streaming show doing exactly what he was doing at CBC – Live hot takes during the 1st intermission of Saturday night games. His son Tim could have played the Ron McLean role – actually a grinning mannequin or a ventriloquist dummy could have played the Ron role but an actual person would have been a more credible show. How many viewers would CBC have lost for a key time during their most profitable broadcasts?

Same goes for Tucker. Just do an internet show, stream it live when his old show would have been. Get into a deal with Megan Kelly and have them go back to back during Prime Time – hell get Mark Steyn to do his show with them. I think Tucker wins that kind of battle.

Question – I don’t have any clue on the answer – can Don Lemon succeed doing the same?

    1. Question – I don’t have any clue on the answer – can Don Lemon succeed doing the same?

I don’t think it would work, his viewer doesn’t have internet access.

  22. Fox ditched Carlson because lawyers easily convinced the yellow bedwetters that retaining him would be a liability down the road.

    1. As much as it pains me, I actually don’t think that’s true. Internal Fox emails show he actually has a brain when it comes to defamation. He clearly wasn’t buying what Powell and Giuliani etc were selling.

  23. I wonder if Fox hired that bozo who thought it would be a good idea to partner Bud Light up with that guy who acts like a preteen girl.

  24. My assumption is that after the settlement, Fox’s insurance company said they wanted him out or wouldn’t continue to provide coverage, until someone can provide other compelling evidence

    1. I don’t think insurance companies dictate operating instructions to their insureds like that. I’m quite certain that they don’t dictate to Rupert Murdoch.

As far as I can see, the settlement had nothing to do with the merits of the claim. Fox was ready and able to defend it. But Murdoch had made up his mind to can Carlson because he doesn’t like his politics. Settling the case could be used to discredit Carlson and to make the damage to the business, caused by his firing, look like his fault.

It’s quite possible that the insurer isn’t paying this settlement and it’s Rupert’s money. But I’d want to talk personally to the people involved before I reached that conclusion. Big money moves in mysterious ways, to which common sense is not a reliable guide. There might be a lot of things going on that we’re in no position to see and assess.

  25. Faux News is not a news organization it is all opinion. All cable news is the same.

Faux got caught in a deliberate lie – that’s why they voluntarily shelled out 800m. They have another lawsuit facing them for even more money.

Look for Hannity and Ingram to take the high jump. Nobody will miss tucker.

      1. Well, no one will miss Tucker in the sense that everybody who wants to watch him will watch him. He won’t lose a viewer. And Rupert Murdoch clearly hates Tucker, so no one at Fox will be allowed to miss him. But, boy will they miss his audience.
