Statement from the Trudeau Foundation
Montreal, April 11, 2023 – In recent weeks, the political climate surrounding a donation received by the Foundation in 2016 has put a great deal of pressure on the Foundation’s management and volunteer Board of Directors, as well as on our staff and our community.
The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is an independent, non-partisan scholarship organization created with broad support in the House of Commons in 2002.
The circumstances created by the politicization of the Foundation have made it impossible to continue with the status quo, and the volunteer Board of Directors has resigned, as has the President and CEO.
Three directors have agreed to remain on an interim basis so that the Foundation can continue to meet its obligations pending Board renewal, including towards its Scholars, Mentors and Fellows.
We would like to thank Pascale Fournier for her work as President and CEO over the past five years, as well as all the members of the Board of Directors.

The Trudeau Foundation is all about leadership training. Does it take Progressive Pat to tell us how wonderful this is for Canada?
Through its Scholarship, Fellowship, and Mentorship programs, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation focuses on the leadership development of our Scholars. The objective is to empower them to have meaningful impact in the world, equipping them with the skills to be leaders in their institutions and communities and instilling in them values crucial for Engaged Leaders, such as engagement with a plurality of perspectives, service to the community, audacity and innovation.
These are the people that can turn a drama teacher into a leader. And we’re getting the Chinese to pay for it! (Yikes!)

But obviously window-dressing and a transparent attempt to throw some meat to the barking dogs so as to make the Trudeau Foundation-LPC-Haute Public Sector Axis appear – appear – to be making SOME form of admission/concession (“look, we’re getting serious here and dealing with things, so back off!”).

This was a story in 2016 – but no one picked it up and ran with it. You could see the contributions rise as he progressed from MP to leader of the Party and potential leader of the Country.
The dear leader skirted around the boundaries of legal, ethical and social behaviours since he was a kid. He continues to act in that way.
What has changed? Why is this now becoming an issue?

My hunch is they got on the wrong side of Hill ary with their involvement in Haiti assistance. They may have thought the goal was to help Haitians, not to steal from them. The LPC is a happy accomplice.
I think Barry could have blown the whistle on the Covid vaccine fiasco. His company produced HCQ. Maybe he was unwilling to take it off the market to make way for the vaccines. Barry was not what you would call a ” team player.”

Throwing everyone in Montreal under the bus suggests that someone is in an extreme panic, and as with the recent Vancouver episode, our attention is desperately directed away from the consulate in Toronto and the micro-management of the Michaels.
