The HORROR, the HORROR of all this has hit very close to home for me. My very best friend (since 1983) has two children … their births followed my children by about 10 years as my friend is somewhat younger than me, I have known his children since birth, and even wrote a letter of recommendation to Cal Poly that helped his well-adjusted, now professional, son get into college. We’re that close. Well … his 18yo daughter is … *gawwwd* … “transitioning”. What a nightmare. She has changed her name to “Felix” and insists her parents call her by that name. She has been binding her breasts for several years (I never really noticed). My friend is frankly somewhat still in shock. He has somewhat checked out on her whole fantasy, and isn’t coping well. His wife is trying to walk a tightrope of minimal acceptance so as not to completely alienate her only daughter. She is negotiating, rationally, with her daughter to NOT do anything … irreversible. So far, she has negotiated that tightrope … but I don’t see how much longer she will succeed.
Their daughter (sorry … she’s NOT their 2nd son) is a tall, thin, statuesque blond girl. She’s cute. Not drop dead beautiful … but “quirky” cute. She’s not the least bit manly. But … she’s always been a little weird … by choice. They are a well-to-do family, but are in an elementary school district in the ELITE part of our little town. A district where parents incomes average … average! … about $ 600k/yr. It’s a school district of mean girls … and “Felix” was bullied by some nasty girls for being … weird. Welcome to the REAL world.
How was “Felix” weird? Well … her mother got her into acting at a very young age, and for years she was tutored in acting by a gay couple who run a local acting “theatre”. She got plennnnnty of exposure to LGBTQqAI2s+/- propaganda. How else is she weird? She has an obsession with Japanese Anime … and likely lots of lesbian Anime porn. How else has she been “helped” into her “alternative” deathstyle? Instagram (among other) social media obsession. Hours and hours and hours talking on Instagram to girls who have “transitioned” and have been “recruiting” her to do the same. She’s had all the “support” imaginable … from “entities” on the internet.
I’m heartbroken for my friend. I’m heartbroken for his daughter, who is quirky but always sweet. A little introverted … but so what? That’s not a license to declare WAR on REALITY. I’m reminded of a very, very, wise Bible verse … Philippians 4:8: I won’t quote the verse, but in essence what it says is … whatever is good, honorable, right, and pure … let your mind dwell on these things. We all understand that. We know that when we turn to DARK things, and consume ourselves with our own self-indulgent discomforts … we can spiral downward into an unimaginable abyss. We convince ourselves that “we are just discovering our TRUE selves” … when we’re doing the opposite. We are playing God. We are tearing apart what God created, just so we can feed our own perverted selfish desires. Or “experiment” with ourselves. To create an alternate Anime character of ourselves. Please pray for “Felix” … I am.
Kenji, what a kind expression of care and concern for your friend and his daughter. Would that those driving their own selfish (perverted) agendas had the same understanding as do you.

You have my sympathies, Kenji. I have a close friend whose 16-year-old daughter is going through the same thing with almost exactly the same influences. He’s not a very strong personality and his wife is…somewhat immature, and has been enabling their daughter’s toxic influences because she’s living vicariously through her.
I’ve been a web/Internet software engineer for twenty years. I’ve been a fan of much Japanese animation and SF/nerd culture my whole adult life.
I cannot say the following things loudly enough to any parents:
Do not allow your children unfiltered access to the Internet. Do not give them a phone or a tablet or any similar device. Monitor every bit of media they consume, no matter how innocent it appears (anime, in particular, is degenerate as ****). Do not allow your children to go to cons. Monitor your friends’ peers and social groups and what values and mores the group espouses. Do not allow your fear of being disliked by your children, spouse, friends, or randos on the Internet to override your responsibility as a parent to control the things that influence your children.
Your children will recover from not being able to watch this week’s Hot New Anime or not having a phone with all the latest Chinese psyop apps. They will not recover from disfiguring surgery.

And let me add a couple things. First: my friend and his wife are very strong personalities … to a fault. But, at the same time they are very permissive non-Christians who don’t have many boundaries. Imagine that … My very best friend is a non-Christian … Second: I am not calling for an end to Anime. Meh. It’s a thing, that isn’t likely to go away. Best to learn how to manage it, esp. for your minor children.
I know you’re a tech guy … and I find it ironic that you are saying the same thing said by the top echelon of Silicon Valley execs. … LIMIT your children’s time and exposure to the internet. To the point of many Silicon Valley schools all but eliminate screens from the classrooms. There’s a LOT of wonderful information and exchange of ideas on the internet … but the absolute CRAP outweighs the good by a wide margin.
Kenji, a grand niece is doing the same damn thing. I have not seen her in over four years and try and avoid any and all contact because at times I am not charitable when it comes to mental illness. I lived surrounded by it for decades, and these days if you are nuts I will tell you straight to your face.
Brother WG … the fact that so MANY of us have friends and relatives affected by this “Trans-mania” suggests that it is a wholly FABRICATED … not NATURAL phenomenon. Ordinary statistical distribution of a RARE disorder wouldn’t place quite so many of these people so close to us. The bowels of the internet are amplifying this CRAP in a very dangerous way.

Man, does that ring a bell. Have a niece, all through school she was like that. Dressed up like ’em, drew their art, read the magazines, etc.,etc., etc. She bound herself, too. Bright girl, good looking.
Her mom sent me a photo a number of years back of her daughter sitting topless in the hospital bed after her double mastectomy, proud of her achievement. Seriously f’ed up. Niece & I don’t talk much, nothing to say. I call her by her birth name, she gets PO’d. Her Mom & I don’t broach the subject because she cannot be reasoned with. She said she encouraged the surgery (niece was 19 at the time) because she was afraid her daughter was suicidal. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that they remain suicidal, even after surgery. It changes nothing as far as the mental health is concerned.
To my knowledge she hasn’t started w/ the hormone therapy yet.
I remember commenting here early on wondering what self respecting doctor would ever sign off on these Frankensteinian procedures.
Wow…was I naive. I never thought the ghouls would be waiting to take a number.

I heard that the UK closed down their gender chop shop because the amount of people signing up was so high that they are questioning the medical ethics of it.. The NHS caught up in a fashion trend, a social trend..
Maybe cooler heads are starting to get a grip that a 1000% increase is alarming.. We will see..
