1. So what do you think the chances are all the environmental criteria and consultations can be completed by 2030 when coal is to be shut down? I believe there are 2. Slim and none.

   If residents don’t want them, then cut them off. It is the urban idiots who fall for this green crap, let them live with their worst nightmare….oh no, not nuclear power!!!!

   I am quite happy to keep burning that best of renewables: coal, followed by petro, followed by wood.

   1. A water supply is important so close to Wascana slough is a good spot.

      Basement of the SaskPower building wouldn’t be bad.

3. Next to the biggest consumers of energy would be a good choice, that would reduce transmission and conversion losses…

   But I’m sure that they never even though of that…

   1. Ya know, JD, I’m not sure that’s the best course of action. It’s well known the ‘slickers don’t GAF about rural folk. Give the bastards reliable nuclear energy, they’ll take a holier than thou position & care even less if carbon based energy remains on the table for non-urban areas.

      On the other hand, if they take a look around at the reliable rural nuclear power while their own wind/solar fails miserably, they’d be on board pretty damn fast.

4. The only built SMRs are in Russia and China with one under construction in Argentina. Several on the drawing board. I think you are being optimistic that Canada, rapidly becoming a backward green dystopia, will show any serious interest in the only future energy option after fossils that can deliver prosperity. An independent Sask could more easily do so but why would they not continue to use their coal at least until facility replacement time.

   1. I was not aware there were any SMRs in production anywhere. Do you have some links to those? I’m interested in the real-world effectiveness of this technology.
