Rationing Will Continue

As long as government keeps running health care.

The Telegraph- NHS trust cancels all routine operations for three weeks

Ms Burden said: “Due to the overwhelming demand across general practice and the need to prioritise same-day emergency care to support the wider system, we are asking GP practices to move to only seeing urgent and emergency care patients only.”

She said this would allow practices to focus on urgent care, palliative care, screening programmes, out-of-hours services and care for those with complex care needs.

It’s a feature, not a bug.

  1. How many medical personnel are no longer allowed into facilities because they are not jabbed? Or dead from suddenly?

Create the shortage then the crisis is in full swing with need for draconian solutions.

And the sheeple bleet because the bread and circus show is interrupted.

  2. The main difference between medical care in Canada and Britain is that if the the Brit NHS locks up and stops dead in it’s tracks, you can still go to a doctor and still get proper medical care. Because, contrary to the constant malarkey of the media, Britain has a TWO TIER health system.

In other words, you can BUY an MRI scan in Britain. You don’t have to wait for the NHS to issue you one.

Here in Canada of course we have the North Korean “single tier” model, meaning you get to wait for the government to issue you an MRI date, and if you die while waiting that’s just too freakin’ bad for you.

Or you can make friends with the local animal hospital. A human will fit inside an MRI machine built for horses.

Look for bootleg MRI machines popping up soon in the parking lot at the mall. They’ll be unlicensed and unregulated, but they’ll probably scan your busted hip same-day.

  3. “In other words, you can BUY an MRI scan in Britain”

You can here (Ontario) too. I am aware of one clinic in Kingston and another one in Orleans; there are probably others as well.

  4. Hey, if you can’t wait for treatment, a government funded Sandman (sorry, “doctor”) will be happy to put you out of your misery.

We’re basically living in Logan’s Run now, but without the comforting fiction of Carousel, Farrah Fawcett on speed-dial, or the funky 70’s duds.

  5. Having worked in a federal constituency office a decade ago, I can attest that I was supposed to expedite refugee and landed status claims for people who then appeared to be prioritized ahead of Canadians for kidney and liver transplants.

These people were not engineers or medical specialists, most were unskilled workers.

And they were ineligible to enter Canada based upon Section 38 of the Act, which excludes those who would be an undue burden on the healthcare system, yet the law is ignored by our bureaucrats and politicians of all stripes.

So I know one of the reasons why we have medical treatment demand far outstripping the resources in Canada.

      1. I was also supposed to process children who each had three sets of identification making them the kids of three different mothers who were all there at the same time, for getting additional government “benefits”.

        I quit.

that ” I would go to war with”
          Thank You

  6. The system is operating as it was designed to operate – with no surge capacity whatsoever. So when Covid-19 came along, naturally the result was enduring chaos.

    1. as I recollect, Ontario has approximatley 1/2 the ICU beds of 20yrs ago. Not sure if that applies to beds in general tho.
In other words, our chocolate ration has gone up from 25 to 20g per month.

      1. “Ontario has approximatley 1/2 the ICU beds of 20yrs ago”

The article I read compared today to 40 years ago. But you’re dead-on about the decline in bed availability: slightly less than half the number available now.

And we can thank all our principal political parties for this state of affairs; they all formed governments during this period and watched things deteriorate.

        But we have windmills!

  7. Everything Government touches..
The same question applies to the Bits..Is a service indefinitely delayed any different to a service denied?
“Its Free”,as in over half your tax dollars go to fund the bureaucracy of it and the promised “services” never quite make it to yah..
Make friends with your local young vets, cause they are all that will remain available .

18 months for an appointment to run some tests to make a diagnosis…
“nope not that”,we will make you an appointment to see this other “specialist”…
And the years roll by,the 4th and fifth appointments being “confirmed’ after death..

Whatever this clown show is,it ain’t medical treatment.

    1. Looks like the back alley vet will be my go to from now on barring any major trauma.
Cause going to the hospital will put me in an early grave.
