Matt Taibbi’s latest substack article brings some solace to this otherwise crazy year:
Sometime in the last decade, many people — I was one — began to feel robbed of their sense of normalcy by something we couldn’t define. Increasingly glued to our phones, we saw that the version of the world that was spat out at us from them seemed distorted. The public’s reactions to various news events seemed off-kilter, being either way too intense, not intense enough, or simply unbelievable. You’d read that seemingly everyone in the world was in agreement that a certain thing was true, except it seemed ridiculous to you, which put you in an awkward place with friends, family, others. Should you say something? Are you the crazy one?
In their/our honour, we offer Fanfare for the Common Man.
One can say with confidence that wearing a tinfoil hat has saved many more lives than wearing a mask or getting jabbed.
“Something tells me the coming year is going to be a better one.”
I hope he’s right. The alternative is just too depressing.
Merry Christmas everyone.
“… and see you all again soon.”
Unless, of course, they kill him. In that case a requiem would be appropriate.
Being a guy who sat at the back of the class.. Being a man who has no use for social media.. I have always been a outlier.. Think of me as a person fully distracted in his own personal life.. A observer with no social or governmental affiliations..
Social media has become a government psyop.. Shut-ins getting their worldview from a glowing little rectangle.. Invasion of the mind snatchers.. Its a addiction like any other where moving your thumb two inches gives you a shot of dopamine..
None of us are immune.. A democratic side door to mob rule demagoguery.. Little wonder we are off the rails..
John, SDA and other blogs are forms of social media. So is rumble, odysee, youtube, etc.
When compared to the alternatives (CNN, ABC, NBC, CBC, Global, CTV, etc), I think social media is a far better place to get one’s news.
You are both right … in equal measure.
Our personal responsibility is to think, ponder, and actively process all the information coming our way. We must be skeptics at heart, knowing that truth and lies come at us often confused and disguised. We have inborn instincts that must be activated at all times … instincts that are evolved to keep us from danger.
Yup.
Trust no-one.
Like a Moslem can go all stabby-jihady without warning, a “trusted” pundit or writer can get bought out or swallow a line of BS without warning.
What was once called a “BS filter” is now called a “tinfoil hat” by the PsTB.
Have you noticed the commercials on legacy News? Might as well be hospice ads. Only elderly watch it. Their audience is dieing off.

Comment of the year…in my opinion
It’s a wonder more aren’t literally annihilated crossing a train track or jaywalking looking at their “Fit” (defined as a symbolic hypodermic needle…not the f’ing watch).
Mine is usually In my bk pocket, most used apps..? SDA, pers/bus bank apps, ILogistics from Suncor…and Gettr….Kijiji/Marketplace if I’m looking for something.
Still prefer hanging out with a cpl of buddies quaffin a few beers and shooting the shit.

I’ve seen this movie before:
“In 1977, the reporter Carl Bernstein wrote an article in the Rolling Stone magazine, stating that the relationship between the CIA and the media was far more extensive than what the Church Committee revealed. Bernstein said that the committee had covered it up, because it would have shown “embarrassing relationships in the 1950s and 1960s with some of the most powerful organizations and individuals in American journalism.””

which seems to indicate the only difference between then and now is the targets
They are winning.
The number of self described political “disinterested” people that believe the psyop medias lies like hating on Trump, believe Jan 6th show trial, are against the freedom convoy, think masks, lockdowns and vax worked fine are the majority where I live.
What is astounding is the number of people that tell you to “stop” when in the middle of a discussion.
Try explaining to any Leftard that 3 bills waiting for royal approval in Canada are 1. Take away our guns, 2, reduce fertilizer by 20% and 3. censor the internet
You won’t be able to finish your point before you’re told to “shut up”.
The psyop is every single person that pretends to hate politics and doesn’t want to talk about it or answer questions after they tell you “Trump needs to go to jail”.
None of them believe there is anything to see in the Twitter files.
The “useful idiots” are legion.
Tell me about it.
Its all about the Overton window.
If, in the 1970s, I told people that they want to ban smoking in pubs, outlaw happy hour and force people to do roadside breath-tests and arrest them, I’d get the same treatment.
I shudder to think of where that window will be by 2030.
Always remember, guys, that the government is NOT your friend. That ended in the 60’s. Our elected folks and bureaucrats (ref. “Yes, Minister”) are in business for themsleves.
Government of the people, by the government, for the government.
STOP
yep, have had that on more than one Occasion. Willful Ignorance is the determing factor there…Completely unable to self analyze themselves nor admit they fkd up beyond belief….
…..or, They are so far Blue pilled, there is zero hope for em…6, 7, 8th booster already lined up. Dbl masked & Playing Russian Roulette till they lose.
I’ve a few in my family like that. CNN watchers due to spending 11 yrs in Dubai flying for Emirates…no clue they’ve been completely TURNED.
Vaxxed to the max. And to them, I was the issue…
Just in.
New drop from Taibbi documents in detail the extensive involvement of multiple agencies, including the CIA, in influencing Twitter’s censorship.
