  2. That also speaks something about the church… IN a religious tradition that talks about hugging lepers, they can’t seem to come to terms with contact w/ a virus that isn’t likely to do more than make them sick (flu). My church “othered” me because I refused to get the vax….

    1. There with you, brother. One of the places I experienced true segregation was at the church. Unjabbed needed not to be at the pancake breakfast.

      Bingo! On that count EVERY major Christian denomination failed. And I dont recall any pushback or charity from the Jews, Muslims, or any other major faith when it came to the modern lepers. And they (Christians) did a piss-poor job of giving the various Ceasars what they were due. They didn’t even stick up for the odd lonely pastor who spoke out against the evil.

      1. Someone here told me that the government made a point of going after the fundamentalist Christian churches. I recall driving past a mosque (on Friday prayer day) and the parking lot was jam packed. It’s easier to cultivate the false flag narative of the radical right, their fundamentalist churches, misogyny and racism if they ignore those with the face down,ass up, nose pointing to Mecca crowd.

    I think people that show up with masks at my church get weird stares. Or maybe it’s just me. I give anyone with mask a weird stare, trying to keep the pedo away from my kids.

  9. We were at our local Mennonite church on Thursday evening for their childrens’ Christmas Concert. A full house and not one mask to be seen.

  10. Hit a coupla junior & senior high basketball tournaments the last two weekends. Very few masks. More in the grocery stores. Dr’s appt on Mon to get a ‘scrip refiled. He had his on. Don’t know if that’s to assuage patients or not. None of the nurses or receptionists did. One or two patients wore ’em.

  13. A (government) survey purported to show 70% in BC supported the return of mask mandates. Pure, unadulterated bovine excrement! If 70% support mask mandates, they’ll already be wearing them, but go to any public place where people congregate – malls, grocery stores, big box stores, and only about 1% are wearing them.

  17. My wife was asked if she was going carolling at a local retirement apartment facility. She said, No, I can’t sing. As it turned out she didn’t need that valid excuse. She discovered that the facility was requiring PROOF OF “VACCINATION” and get this: 2 pieces of ID. But masks weren’t mentioned. Progress? Mebbe not, eh? Regress!

  19. My church went along with some of the rules at first. Biggest change we made was dipping the host into the chalice, instead of each drinking straight from the chalice (pastor does rotate it and wipe the rim with a clean fabric square.) We went back to normal pretty quickly. The very elderly still wear masks. Whatever.

  20. Our anabaptist church was slated to be ‘inspected’ by Alberta Health Services a few weeks back. I have no idea what they were looking for. I guess Danielle’s change of leadership had some effect. The inspector never showed up. Our church is a bit divided over masks. Those who still wear them are constantly taking them off to talk or sing then putting them back on to do other things. Someone observed the masks are on and off more times than a hookers panties on pay day.

  23. Got good friends ( in their 70″s). They are first in line for every free shot that comes along.IE 5 Covids, so far, 2flu shots and 2 shingles shots. Mask wearing 100%.
