Aren’t they both running private companies? That’s the first problem. Aren’t both companies registered in the Bahamas? Problem number 2. Weren’t the main investors savvy crypto people very knowledgeable about the space and aren’t they the ones who risked their client’s money and not SBF and Ellison? Strike 3. I’m starting to think this guy will face a fine and no jail time. And he’ll demand the fine, then sink into the back-ground as a near billionaire.
Yet, his crimes are essentially the same as Madoff.
TPTB must be concluding that SBF was fckin over “the right people”, so the “crime” is not consequential.
Maybe SBF will suffer a suicide by shots to the back of the head at some point in the not too distant future.
I’d wager, with better odds than he gave his “investors”, that this guy comes home in a box. The ensuing investigation will remain open as there will be no outrage and therefore no incentive to close.
I’d take that bet. Unlike Epstein, he probably knows very little, and there’ll be no real investigation into the matter anyway, so what’s the urgent need to liquidate him?
He likes the beach life, so he’ll end up in a beach climate where, to be on the safe side, there’s no chance of extradition. Haifa?
Well… if I had been foolish enough to loose, say, a couple million on this guy’s tulips and let’s say it was the lion’s share of my retirement. I’d probably be foolish and angry enough to hunt him down. Not ruminating on politics with this one, just plain outrage and the fact that he’s a loathsome character.

That was an interesting case. The US officially disapproves of private “bounty hunters” going into foreign countries and abducting people. But the USG reserves the right to apply its laws anywhere in the world. Consider the “Lord of War” case where a Russian national was abducted by official US agents in Thailand. The US has always asserted extraterritoriality where it’s possible to do so, and I’m sure it’s possible in Bahamas. If SBF is living it large there, it’s safe to assume US authorities don’t want him in the US.
